I am running Premiere Pro CS5 under Windows 7 Home Premium (64). I successfully finished a 30 minutes, fairly simple video with some, but not excessive effects. When I returned to the Premiere workfile later, I noticed a significant increase in loading time and after a few opening/closing cycles the project would not save at all. I can still work within the project and make changes, scrub-view them etc. As soon as Premiere attempts to autosave or I try to save or close the project, Premiere quits.
With other projects, Premiere works as usual.
Any ideas where to look for a solution - I would really hate to lose over two weeks' work?
In the meantime I have made some progress: I was able to open the project, copy the timeline and paste it into a new project. At this point I realized that the new project file (containing exactly the same information) had the reasonable size of 9.000KB whereas the corrupted version had bloated itself to a staggering 180.000KB!
I am happy with the final outcome, but I still wonder what had happened to cause such a dramatic failure.
5.00 had a memory leak, update to 5.03 and it will be solved.
Thank you, Harm, for pointing me in the right direction. I have installed the patch and I am looking forward to many more hours of happy editing.
