    AIR is corrupted in CS5

      I can't access the photoshop CS5 help function.  It give me a messages saying AIR is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.  I've reinstalled the program and still am not able to access it.  Any suggestions?

          Hi,

           

          You can try the following:

           

          On Windows

          1. Uninstall Adobe AIR Runtime from Control Panel -> Programs
          2. It may throw up a warning that "there are applications that will not be able to run"
          3. Ignore the warning and uninstall
          4. Open the website http://get.adobe.com/air
          5. Click on Download
          6. Install the runtime
          7. Test if help function works.
          8. If not, uninstall "Adobe Help" from Control Panel -> Programs
          9. Open the website http://www.adobe.com/support/chc
          10. Choose Photoshop in product drop down
          11. Click on Install

           

          Your help function should work now.

           

          On Mac

          The only difference on Mac are highlighted for steps 1 and 8

           

          Step 1: Uninstall Adobe AIR runtime using /Applications/Utilities/Adobe AIR Uninstaller

          Step 8: Uninstall Adobe Help by trashing /Applications/Adobe/Adobe Help.app

           

          Make sure to empty the files from your trash folder as well.

            Excellent.  Worked without even having to uninstall the "Adobe help" portion.  Appreciate the advice.

              I have the same or similar problem. The help function does not work. If I ask for help, the license agreement for Adobe Air pops up. I check the agree button, but the help function still does not operate. I followed your directions about uninstalling Adobe Air and Adobe Air help, but this did not change anything. I still have the same problem.

                Can you try restarting the system after uninstalling Adobe AIR and Adobe Help.

                 

                 

                To help us debug more, let us know a few more details: Operating System and version, Adobe Help version and 32/64-bit architecture of your computer.

                  Hi Sandeep,

                   

                  That worked! or at least I think it did. I am now directed to Adobe Photoshop Help URL.

                   

                  I uninstalled Adobe AIR and Adobe help, so there is no version of Adobe Help or Adobe AIR on my computer. I have CS5 version 12.0.4 x 32.
