I've been playing with an AIR app to display my code snippets
I have saved online. I decided to see if it was possible to build
an AIR app JUST with the visual tools of Spry that are provided in
DW (and it 90% work just with the visual tools!).
I noticed something that I am unsure of: The text shadows
(css defined) show up on my Mac but in windows the text shadows do
not show up. I was under the impression that the webkit that is in
AIR would allow for this. Why would it show the shadows on one but
not the other if it is the same engine?
I've been real curious about AIR's webkit build & css
support myself and have been digging VERY deep to find some answers
(as this forum gets me nowhere). They touch on it in their little
HTML and AJAX book (
which eventually concludes with a link to Safari's documentation...
And even so I've already personally poked holes through a bunch of
their claims about their DOM capabilities. I think the bottom line
is they have flex to worry about and packaging webkit with AIR was
really just a selling point.
