What about exporting a workspace. I work in 3 or 4 different locations, on different macs, and it would be great to import my shortcuts into the other InDesigns...
You can move saved workspaces into another installation. You should find a workspaces folder in your user profile (windows) or library (mac). Saved workspaces are just xml files.
That said, workspaces are only arrqngements of panels and menu commands. They don't include any shortcuts you might have saved (though most of those can be moved, too). Take a look at Replace Your Preferences for some suggestions on what you might want to save and where to find it.
You're right, buried deep in the vaults of user library pref's there was my personal InDesign workspace.
That is, once i'd found out how to see a user library in Lion! And, boy, that was an obscure one…
(i was looking in HD app prefs)
Thanks for the swift reply!
I have the same problem... But I just can't seem to find my InDesign workspaces in Lion... Where did you find them exactly? I want to use my CS5 workspace in Indesign CS5.5
Even if I search for it.... must be very deep... :o)
thx a lot!
In Lion, the Library file is hidden by default.
If you do a Google search on "Lion hidden library folder" you will get some solutions to make it visible. Then you can find the path to the CS5 workspace file.
