    Keyboard Shortcuts for Object Opacity?

    Andymc7 Level 1

      It seems like there are an array of options in the keyboard shortcuts panel in ID CS5, but I can't seem to figure out how to set keyboard shortcuts for object opacity levels as I have in Illy and PS (1=10%, 2=20$, etc). This would really come in handy for me. Anyone know if this is possible in ID?

          You can set Panel Menus > Effects: Transparency and then hitting the keystroke will pop up a dialog box and you can type the number and hit return. This is not what you asked for, but it is not too-too far away.

          You can also do it with a one-line script:

          app.selection[0].transparencySettings.blendingSettings.opacity=50;

          Save as trans50.jsx in your scripts folder and then bind it to a key under Scripting (in Keyboard Shortcuts). Make as many as you like for whatever numbers you like.
