I'm putting together a book, with footnotes on each page. On some (seemingly random) pages, InDesign is inserting a lot of white space in the middle of sentences and paragraphs, leaving half the page blank and pushing the rest of the sentence/paragraph to the next page. It's not related to an overly long footnote in the second part of the body text chunk. I tried storyboard view and I tried viewing hidden characters, nothing seems to indicate the problem.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Try to recompose all stories: Deselect everything, and use the shortcut:
I can't remember if that is the default shortcut, or whether I changed
the shortcut. So it may be safest to open the shortcut editor, click on
Show Set, and search for "recompose all stories".
