Tthe only thing keeping me from making the jump to the new Sandy Bridge EP setup is a latency problem related to the new dual chip structure and the way they share ram. The smart folks at ADK are aware how this can hobble the new technology to the point where the cost of the upgrade is not matched by the improvement of performance. Lots of venders are not sharing this info with consumers. Anybody hear any more related infomation?
The latency problem is not confined to the Sandy Bridge-EP platform. It occurs on all multi-CPU (read: multi-socket) systems, including dual-Nehalem/Westmere systems.
It just might be more problematic according to folks with much larger brains then mine Before I shell out big bucks I want to be sure of the system performance.
