I am working on a document in InDesign, using an image I have edited in Photoshop. Is there a way I can make edits in the PS image and have them appear in ID, without having to place the image again?
To edit the image from InDesign, right-click on the placed image and choose to 'edit original'. It will open in Photoshop. When you save or close the image in Photoshop, it will automatically update in the InDesign document.
If you edit the placed image without InDesign interaction (by accessing directly in the filesystem), you can easily refresh the link in InDesign's Links panel. Out of date links will have a yellow alert icon.
Marian, you have saved me! I tried the 'edit original' method and it worked perfectly. No more frustration!
