I'm selling a combination of electronic products and physical product. How is shipping handled?

So I had the same issue! After getting a coppied "Sorry for the inconvienince but we are working on this...blah blah blah" script from Rehan on support chat window  I was like why is BC not resolving this known issue. I went looking for a BC developer support comapany and found www.bcguru.com and mand they answered my question with in 3 hours and provided a work around solution for FREE! They rock and I appreciate the helped me.

Here is a work around:

"You can give your downloads a weight of 0.01 and the shipped items at 1, then on your shipping options give a weight limitation of 1 to 800. Then as long as the items in the shopping cart are above one pound, but under 800 pounds you have shipping. If it is just the media downloads there will be no shipping. " - Chad Smith,

This exact element is working correctly.

e-product in the cart only - no shipping,

e-product with an actual product - shipping.

Note this is an FAQ to answer a common question asked, not an issue.

That work around is for a slightly different thing.

Ooops...sorry about that. I guess people looking for my issue can stumble acros this FAQ like I did and see the hack. I will creat a FAQ for this issue.

I have a similar issue where i have a 'package' that includes eproducts and actual products all in the same product - previously we have been manually subscribing these people to lists that then automatically send out an email campaign but we want to try and remove this. Is there any way for a 'downloadable product' to have shipping charged to it? As it is downloadable and actual products?
