    'Credit card' question . . .

Thanks, Randy, for your prompt reply. I didn't make my question completely clear. The form I create will NOT be used to actually collect any money. It NEVER will be used for this. Its only purpose will be to obtain the number to reserve motel rooms. All actual transactions occur IN PERSON at my boss' motel. Will the usual SSL feature suffice for simply sending a number without any money changing accounts?

      Also, what is PCI?

      Thank you for helping me,

Sorry, I should have provided more details (I hate when people use acronyms and don't define them )

Actually its PCI DSS - Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS)

Its a standard defined by the credit card industry that defines have credit card information should be handled.

This web site explains in more detail: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/

Its not only about financial transactions but about how a credit card number is stored. Because we do not have the systems or processes in place to be PCI compliant we do not recommend collecting credit card numbers using our service.
