Within the last few days, the uncompressed Microsoft avi files that were encoded with the V210 codec will suddenly not display the video, only audio, in their playback. The video was encoded in PPro 5.5. No video, only audio playback is consistent both in Windows Media Player and Quicktime. However, when encoded with the UYVY codec within PPRO 5.5, playback is fine.
I know that Windows rolled out a small update that also included a NVIDIA update. I'm using a Quadro FX 4800 and have tried updating those drivers but everything seems to be up to date.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any recommendations?
The V210 codec is for use with AJA hardware. Don't use it if you don't have that hardware installed.
Thanks, that's good to know. Is there an uncompressed encoding method that would you suggest within 5.5?
Microsoft AVI with codec set to None.
Or you can install the free Lagarith or UT codecs. Both work very nice with PP. Both use lossless compression, so you won't lose any quality, but will get smaller files (especially when using a YUV mode).
