1. Re: Removal of Arrange Screen Icon, and Application Bar
Noel Carboni Mar 23, 2012 8:01 AM (in response to haydnRM0001)Hate to say it, but it was several clicks before too (once on the button, once on the type of arrangement you wanted...). It's no different from what I can see.
I missed the button to for a few minutes too, but now knowing where to get the functionality it's no problem.
Adapting to change keeps the mind young. It's just something we're all going to have to get used to.

haydnRM0001 Mar 23, 2012 8:08 AM (in response to Noel Carboni)Change for change sake is not an improvement and will not keep you young. The removal of these icons does not make the interface any cleaner, just different.

PECourtejoie Mar 23, 2012 8:31 AM (in response to haydnRM0001)Hello, Haydnrm, you might want to change your username to something else than an email to avoid spam...
The issue with the application frame might have been that many Mac users where not using it, I guess.
I initially missed some of its functionality, but most of it is replicated by shortcuts or menu entries, anyways.

haydnRM0001 Mar 23, 2012 9:07 AM (in response to PECourtejoie)Thanks for the help with the user name. I changed it. I have a MAC version of Photoshop 5 too, and the icons were not on the Application Frame, but the top menu. I just found them very useful. I will get used to the new interface, but liked the easy way to get to the arrange screen and Bridge.

Mike55YU Mar 25, 2012 7:57 PM (in response to haydnRM0001)I very much miss having the icon for Arrange as well. It is definitely more clicks, and gains nothing.

6. Re: Removal of Arrange Screen Icon, and Application Bar
haydnRM0001 Mar 26, 2012 4:37 AM (in response to Mike55YU)It's just a small thing, but I'm still looking for the old icon all of the time. Old habits are hard to break. It doesn't seem like it would be very much work to bring it back or give the users a choice in customizing the bar. Maybe if enough users support the change, Adobe will listen.
Thanks.

PECourtejoie Mar 26, 2012 5:00 AM (in response to haydnRM0001)I think that once Configurator next will be available, it'll be easy to create a panel with the different buttons, for a real one-click action.
I miss those from time to time, but am wondering if they should not appear as entries in the contextual menu of the tabs/title bars. (Try them on a Mac, elsewhere than on the actual title, you'll have a nice surprise )

eclic Mar 26, 2012 5:51 AM (in response to PECourtejoie)i never used the app bar or frame - waste of space and too weird for mac users.
but I would like to have the arrange document command alittle more handy than the menu - and its not something i use often enough to give it a keyboard shortcut.
i've avoided configurator in the past - this might be a good chance to learn it.
or the contextual menu sounds good too - but that must be too late to add for CS6?

10. Re: Removal of Arrange Screen Icon, and Application Bar
haydnRM0001 Mar 26, 2012 4:43 PM (in response to eclic)I use both the Windows and the Mac version of Photoshop. Some Mac users like the Application Bar and it really doesn't take up much screen real estate. It would be nice to have the option to use it or not. As far as the Application Frame, it is also useful, since you definitely know what app is open when you use it. I guess it's just a matter of preference and the user should have the option to use it or not. The Configurator might be an option.
