Installing Flash Player

When installing Flash Player 10.3 for Mac 10.5.8, I get the error "installation failed". I have tried all of the basic troublshooting available online without luck. What else could I check?

Download and Run Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller from here : http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flash/ts/uninstall_flash_player_osx_10.2.dmg

Download Flash Player 11 for MAC from here : http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_player_11_osx_i...

If you still recieve Errors, then try to follow this process from "root" user in MAC

Enabling Root User :

1. From the Finder’s Go menu, choose Utilities.
2. Open Directory Utility.
3. Click the lock in the Directory Utility window.
4. Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK.
5. Choose Enable Root User from the Edit menu.
6. Enter the root password you wish to use in both the Password and Verify fields, then click OK.
