    automatically updating modified links

    Sarah Baron Brljevic

      Hi there!

Is there a way to automatically, without opening the indesign file, update modified links within the file?

(Or a way to trigger opening the files in which links have been modified?)

      If not,

is there a way to see if a psd file is linked within another file?

I am working with large amounts of .indd documents that contain various linked psd files that will be modified in the future,
so I am looking for a way to automate/ease updating the .indd files. (actually just a notification on which .indd files have to be updated, so I don't have to reopen all of them every time I modifiy one of the psd.s)

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks,

      Sarah

Use the linked files native program and save?

The InDesign file keeps a direct link to the psd's so if you update all the psd's before opening the InDesign file(s), it/they will automatically update. No need to "reopen all of them every time I modify one of the psd's".

I doubt it, but you never know.
