What do you see? Just a straight cut?
What transitions are you using?
Are you sure your duration isn't zero?
Welcome to the forum.
Along the lines of Jim's questions, here are a few more:
- Are your Clips different (Jim's first question)? If you have just Cut a single Clip, and then added, say a Cross-Dissolve, there will be no apparent difference.
- If you are using separate Clips, do you have adequate Handles? This ARTICLE goes into more detail.
Good luck, and please let us know a bit more,
As a test, just Cut a Clip into two segments. Add the Effect>Black & White to the second segment. Add a Cross-Dissolve between them. Hit Enter/Return to Render those segments and the Transition. Play. How does that work for you?
Thanks Jim, The issue is with the "handles" (please tell me that this is a backward step from Prem 6.5), With the wedding videos I am editing 10 minute clips, cutting and joining and then trying to insert the dissolves, wipes or whatever transitions. In a lot of cases not removing any frames at all, just a cut & transition.
I seem not to be grasping the concept of how to "make" handles. Does this compute? Nigel.
Premiere CS5 handles transitions quite different from Premiere 5.5
In this help doc it explains how things are done:
I'm curious about what could possibly be different. (In fact, how could any NLE handle things differently. Transitions are pretty straightforward.)
