As far as I can tell there is nothing in the Illustrator SDK that allows me to stop a close event once the user has selected "close" from the file menu.
I currently intercept the close event to display a dialog to the user. I need them to fill out the form in the dialog and click submit before the current document is closed.
This used to cause no problems, but now that the UI has transfered to an Extension Builder flash extension there is a major issue.
The "about to close notifier" is received from Illustrator and I throw up the modal extension dialog, but it's asynchronous to the the SDK plug-in. Illustrator continues about its business and closes the document that I still have to work on before the user can fill out the form and click submit.
Is there any way to send Illustrator into a holding/waiting state so that it won't close the open document until my modal extension dialog gives it permission?
