So here's something that is making no sense to me. I have MPG videos imported into my timeline and they are scaled fine to perfectly fit the program window. Now when i burn a DVD with Encore and play it back (4:3) on friend's wide screen TV, they bleed out of the frame a bit while the rest of the film fits just like ti shows in Premiere's PRogram window view. Anyone know what the scoop is here? I have the MPG's set to scale to fit, should I uncheck them and scale manually?
"bleed out of the frame a bit" could mean different things. Can you be more specific using terms everybody will understand?
My interpretation is that Encore thinks your source is 16x9, not 4x3. But, you didn't give us that much to go on. Tell us your sequence settings, footage description (MPG isn't enough), etc.
I believe you are refering to what's called overscan:
This is a holdover from the old analog TV days. This is why we have action safe and title safe areas defined for content to be shown on TV.
