it depends on what you`re after I guess..
You can get the file name, creation date, modification date and output date using text variables. If you need anything other than that, you probably need to find another solution.
I am trying to do this, with no success. I have entered a lot of information in File Info and I am not able to retrieve it from Text Variables -> Metadata caption.
Anybody has found a solution for this?
I don't think the File > File Info metadata is accessible in a text variable. It's primarily used when exporting from an InDesign file. An example would be file metadata that is exported to an EPUB file.
Thak you Steve for your answer.
I really need to insert in a Master Page the title of the document, from the metadata panel... any workaround for this?
If the title of the document was the same as the file name, you could use variables:
A second way is more manual. You could use the Section Marker field in Numbering & Section Options. You'd have to enter the title in the field. Then on the Master Page, place a text frame, and choose Type > Insert Special Character > Markers > Section Marker.
Steve, you have saved my life today! Just applied this and works perfect! Thank you!!
