    Adobe Bridge Cache Settings

    ronace2 Community Member

I've noticed that in CS5 as well as CS6 Bridge, the thumbnails load very slowly.  When I switch folders to view a different set of thumbnails it seems like it takes for ever to load and become visibe.  I'm guessing that the Cache settings I'm using are incorrect.

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks

In Bridge there are several varieties of thumbnails, with embedded being the smallest and 100% preview being very large.

If you have one of the larger varieties they will take a lot of resources and time to develop.  Once loaded they should work OK.

If past editions are any measure the cache for CS6 will be separate from CS5 and therefore you will have to build everything from scratch.

If you have large thumbnails check you HD space as it can grow quite large.

Best to compact it occasionally to get rid of unneeded thumbnails.

Also, if you have "export to folder" checked you really have 2 caches.  One in folder and the central cache.
