I'm currently studying in Design & Digital Arts, at the moment I'm designing an interactive PDF to sit alongside an exhibition that was developed from earlier in the year. The exhibition is about the poles, and I was hoping to have an Augmented Reality side to the PDF where users would be able to see the northern/southern lights by holding their phone/ipad to the sky and seeing the lights play over the top of it.
I'm struggling with finding any instructions on how to do this in AE though, I know there is transparency that can be used in videos, but can that be replaced with a layer sourced from the devices native camera?
No. AE doesn't do anything in realtime. Any such solution you envision would have to be programmed in Flash, Processing or whatever. I don't even think you can do it inside a PDF despite it supporting Flash.
