Learning Impact - PowerPoint Text Slides - Synchronized Audio vs. Unsynchronized Audio

    Big4 Instruct Designer

When working with Adobe Presenter or other PowerPoint e-learning plugins, we often have to work with text-based slides.  For learning retention purposes, when working with text based slides, I have always believed animating text to appear when the recorded voice speaks about the that text has a greater impact than simply having the audio talk to a still, static slide. Does anyone know of any studies or references that prove this to be true?  Our technology developers currently add audio to static PowerPoint slides, but I feel I need some data to justify making the change to synchronizing audio to some basic PowerPoint text animations.

      I appreciate your help.  Thanks!
