I just saw in a related adobe forum this Adobe employee response about Muse and using BC as a CMS system:

Correct AnswerRe: A New Muse User
Hi Wild Bucky,
Login capabilities or user specific private content as part of a Content Management System are not features currently available in Muse. CMS features will not be part of the Muse 1.0 release. We intend to add CMS features to Muse in the future that will work with Adobe's Business Catalyst platform. Business Catalyst already has CMS features (see http://www.businesscatalyst.com/product-tour/overview for more info), but Muse isn't yet able to take advantage of them natively.

Corey

I believe I also saw another post talking about adding eCommerce functionality to Muse.
I was wondering your take on this. It concerns me as it dilutes my message that as a BC Partner I can provide more robust functionality than product like that. I'm surprise to hear that the road map may include allowing Muse to natively create deep functionality and confusion that will happen trying to explain to a client why a Partner BC site would be more appropriate than a Muse site.
Your thoughts?

Hello,
CMS and e-commerce feature integration using Adobe Business Catalyst is on the roadmap for the future of Muse. However, I can't give you a specific timeline for when this will happen. A similar question came up in the FAQ: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4355214#4355214

Liam Dilley Apr 27, 2012 3:15 PM (in response to Todd H&M)eCommerce works (JUST) if your an experienced developer with the platform and that takes years. I can without any doubt bet you anything any form of integration would be the basics and will confuse the hell out of those people, especially when they do not even know basic HTML and CSS stuff.
May take on Muse is that if your not using Dreamweaver for example you really do not know about the web much as you should with Muse.
I am not worried about people using it as a profesional but I am worried about those people in terms of clogging up support and also the people they sell these sites too who will then come to people like us to do it properly for them.
Again no fuss for me but as for the industry its a really bad thing and for those people who get substandard websites built for them. That has always been my concern with this sort of thing and why they never work.
Muse's key difference is that it has BC has a platform to actually publish a website, other software like it has not had that before and why sadly it will be a bit more successfull.
Like I said, as a web professional I am not worried, it just what it does not do in the sense of it does not teach your, make you learn all the in's and outs of web design and development and the key information you need to know to make it work.

nova cvmweb Apr 27, 2012 4:06 PM (in response to Liam Dilley)@Liam - Nice to see that you also have concerns regarding Muse! I am whining here since last fall and everyone disagrees so far.
In my opinion:
- MUSE undermine the professional webdesigner's work and we get attacked from inside our very own circle.
**Not that we don't have enough questions to asnwer to new clients who ask about wordpress, drupal, etc ...
- Adobe undermine the effort and concept of BC for us who are using REBRANDED Partner Sites! (This is the reason I paid $2000 for premium partnership, don't I?)
Cretive Vision Media (my company) is a BC Partner who paid $2000 for premium partnership and also bought Creative Suite licenses earlier for $7500.
Currently, we can get a special intro price for Creative Cloud for $29.99, no discount on cloud membership fo us.
What is the purpose to be a paid Premium Partner now? Don't we eligible for some kind of credit for our $2000 paid into Adobe's pocket?
I think an excellent solution will be if,
Adobe create a MUSE HOSTING PLAN feature tied to MUSE only, leave alone BC, simple as that!
The only reason I can think of using MUSE as a seasoned webdesigner if I want to create a site mockup or interactive Prototype (but we have proto for that, don't we?)
I hope my comment make any sense and it might trigger some solution from the BC management up there!
cheers,

Liam Dilley Apr 27, 2012 4:21 PM (in response to nova cvmweb)Nova, your certanly not alone, some are not as vocal as myself but people do not like Muse, trust me.
If you listen to the last town hall meetings some of the things they said from BC end is undermined with what Adobe has told people like yourself about things like Muse integration.
This is a balance they need to sort and they defianlty need to say "Hey Muse is for you to get started" Rather then "Hey this is a way for you to make sites with no effort and sell them for lots of cash to people and companies who do not realise what they are getting".
Things like certification and actually making people aware that there are BC partners who know their stuff and for them to be the people to turn to really utilise BC and make people sites shine!
Watch the town hall meeting stuff and you will see what BC say, things people like your told from Adobe is contridicting. I have allready reached out to Madga on some of these things and as you can see from the town hall meetings there are the same and similar concerns as yourself by others.
Hopefully the team can jump on these and sort the direction so they do not fall into the trap of screwing over all existing partners. I know they do not want this, just with this big transition into adobe things like white label is all but gone now so hopefully they can rectify that now Creative Cloud and the Adobe ID switch over are close to compleition.

nova cvmweb Apr 27, 2012 4:43 PM (in response to Liam Dilley)@ Liam! I can't believe this, but seems like that we are actually on the same side for once !!!
Your line: "things like white label is all but gone now" is giving me bone chilling horror feels...
Dear ADOBE Company and BC TEAM! Please do not destroy our website design businesses :-) pretty please!
