Dave LaRonde Apr 25, 2012 11:46 AM (in response to DavidHildreth)Who makes your card: AJA, Blackmagic, Matrox? What kind is it?

DavidHildreth Apr 25, 2012 11:59 AM (in response to Dave LaRonde)No AJA, BM or Matrox card. I cut in MC 6, with a Nitris DX. The DVCPRO HD deck is via Firewire.
EDIT: My mention of FCP above is just to give some context that the deck does work and is attached. I can see video through it via Firewire in FCP.

4. Re: DVCPRO HD preview problem.
DavidHildreth Apr 25, 2012 4:17 PM (in response to Dave LaRonde)Yes, I believe I have the correct settings. I can't get anything to show using "Firewire > Apple Firewire NTSC" in the Video Preview settings either.
Using "DVCPRO HD > DVCPro HD (720p60)" I get a grey screen on my monitor, which reports it's showing 720/60. However, if it swich to "DVCPRO HD > DVCPro HD (1080p30)" which I know won't work because this deck won't do 1080p, I get a black screen. So, something is making it through the deck.
Again, I can open up FCP and without touching anything on the deck or the monitor get 720/60 to my client monitor through Firewire.

5. Re: DVCPRO HD preview problem.
Dave LaRonde Apr 26, 2012 7:35 AM (in response to DavidHildreth)It's easy to work with DVCPro HD 720p60 in a 1280x720 59.94 comp: text looks great, and it still renders back as 960x720 because that's what the codec requires.
Perhaps you're doing that?
