Currently in certified mode - yes in my adobe. So that rules out the third party plugin issue

Hi VKP1,

The issue is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, I want to confirm the exact steps to reproduce the issue. The crash occurs when you -

a) open a pdf file in Acrobat, close it and again open a pdf.

or

b) open a pdf file in Acrobat and then open another pdf

And you have seen this issue since your Acrobat was updated to 10.1.2. Before that there was no problem. Right?

Hi VKP1,

Such basic scenario should not crash. These things are thoroughly tested.

Therefore I believe something is wrong with your Acrobat installation.

Try repairing your Acrobat from Control Panel->Programs or Uninstall and Reinstall it. (Make sure you have "Full Access" permissions on your installation directory.)

Hi VKP1,

The steps you mentioned are very basic and always thoroughly tested. Hence I was not able to reproduce the issue at my end.

But as you have now said that this is happening only in some external application and not in Acrobat, one thing we can be sure of is that the problem lies in way this external application is handling Acrobat.

Which application is this and how are you opening pdf in it?

Hi vamalik,

We are opening  pdf inside a window's Group Box control using

oAVDoc.OpenInWindowEx(pDFPath, hwnd.ToInt32(),,1, 1, 0, 1, 2, 0, 0, 0)

The pdf is openeing when we load for the first time.

Second time it is throwing error.

This was working finr from Acrobat 7 till 10.1. This error started happening after the acrobat was updated to 10.1.2

We can prevent this from happening in 10.1.2 by killing the acrobat process. But this will stop all the acrobat opened outside the application

Please advise

I am also experiencing this repeated APPCRASH, under different circumstance: after I open an existing pdf and then try to add pages after from my scanner. As the previous poster stated, this problem only started to occur after 10.1.2 update.  I can reproduce this error at will. No other app is open on the desktop. I have used the repair installation feature several times on my Win7 Ultimate 64 desktop PC (which reports NO other issues or crashed except for Acrobat).

Hi

Here it is. Crashed while trying to append an existing Acrobat file with a new doc scan.

Only 7 days to download from now. Help appreciated. I had no idea these dmp files

were so big.  FYI: I have MS Visual Studio Debugger and it could not debug the crash.

Has a resolution to this issue ever been found.  We are using 10.1.5 and if users open mulitply PDF's and close them we get an error every time and can not find a way to stop it.  The error in the event view is the same that has been posted above and we have not found a resolution.

Hi vamalik,

Please let me know if you need anything else from my side. When can we expect next version of acrobat? Is there any way to fix this issue in 10.1.3 itself?

I am getting an error as well... running Acrobat 10.1.3 on Windows 64bit machine. I also am repeatedly getting the Adobe Sofware License Agreement and I can't get it to stop showing up. I tried repairing my installation but to no avail... please help. If I click on the dump file as soon as Acrobat crashes it will not let me copy it saying the handle is invalid. The process actually gets shut down... over and over and over and over. I will click accept on the Agreement and it opens up Acrobat then it recycles - shuts me down then opens it up again. Please help!
