I am using CS5.5, on a Mac running Lion. I have a brand new tower, with 64 gig of Ram. If I open a plan document, and say command D or try and place a screen shot (very small file) off my desktop, I get the beach ball for quite a while. Then when it stops, I click ON the screen shot and it spins for a while longer, then it will place. It does not do this from a file folder, only from my desktop. I ran disk utility to try and repair permissions, twice. That didn't do it. Any other ideas? Anyone else having this odd occurrance?
I hope its not necessary to say in InDesign.
How long is "quite a while"? 5 seconds? 60 seconds?
In any case, when you see this, go to Activity Monitor, select InDesign, and click Sample Process.
(Probably a good idae to have ID selected in AM beforehand so you can switch there rapidly).
Save and upload the output to http://pastebin.com/ and post a link here.
I'll tell you waht InDesign was doing while it appeared to be hung.
Are you using 22.214.171.1248 and 10.7.3?
