I did a Google search and found this thread from about a year ago:
It looks like there is no support within InDesign (and probably Acrobat) beyond supporting PDF/VT files. Presumably you got the plug-in you're referring to from some third party company. You would need to contact them about metadata they might have added to the PDF file.
If all you want is to see the metadata with Acrobat 9 Pro, the Description tab of Document Properties has an Additional Metadata button where you can choose Advanced and then select from the various metadata protocols used in the PDF.
The CIP4 metadata is not listed in the Additional Metadata section (using Acrobat 9 Pro).
Also, the plug-in I am using to write CIP4 metadata in the PDF is a sample plug-in PDFVT that comes along with InDesign SDK.
So, how to view the CIP4 metadata written to PDF. The CHM help file in InDesign SDK says that one can check the CIP4 metadata using "any" tool.
No specific tool is mentioned. Kindly help!
