Fireworks CS6 Stuck at 45% Install

Using the Adobe Creative Cloud to download and install Fireworks CS6, it gets stuck at 45% each time. Fireworks was originally installed then I uninstalled it and failing to reinstall (4 times).

Is there a way to manually uninstall Fireworks CS6 completely or determine why it will not get past 45%?

How do I launch Fireworks?

Obviously I'm new, sorry it's a stupid question. I've downloaded creative cloud and under my apps it says Fireworks is installed but I can't seem to figure out how to launch it.

Hello All! Hello Fireworks Community.

I work on a Sony VIAO computer and for a full year I've always been using my licensed Fireworks CS6....

But since this morning , Fireworks CS6 is not opening. A popup shows (an internal error occured ) and says in French "une erreur interne est survenue".

I called the service where I bought it (FNAC.COM), the guy said to desinstall, reinstall through Creative cloud Adobe software, and I put back the licence number...

But it's still the same problem... I know that VAIO does continuous major updates, ie yesterday... would it be related?

Can not open .ai illustrator files in CS6

Hi. I am having problems opening several illustrator files, and pasting a vector from illustrator CS6 to fireworks CS6.

If I try to open an .ai file that I normally would open just fine in fireworks CS5.x I get an error that says:

Could not open the file.

An internal error occured

If i try to copy in Illustrator CS6, then paste to fireworks nothing happens.

This is occuring with multiple files, that are small in size, even selecting simple vectors and pasting is not working.

I tried creating a new file in Illustrator, pasting the shape from the other file, saving it, then working with that file in Fireworks, still does not work.

I tried rebooting.

12.0.0.236 , windows 7 ultimate x64, i7, ssd, etc..

Dear all

Creative Cloud enabled me to download a trial version of Fireworks. I am happy with the program and want to purchase it. However, when I follow the link in the popup, the website asks me where I'm from. When I enter The Netherlands, the site shows: "Sorry, this product is not available in your country"

Seems rather strange since I was given a completely Dutch trial version.

Anyone ideas?

I recently purchased Fireworks.

I noticed that a tax was added to it.

In a previous order from 2 years ago, I purchased Acrobat 10 and it had no tax on that one.

when did Adobe start adding taxes to the order? and who gets the tax?

Fireworks CS6 crashes on open. I get another window (Crash Report) that contains the following:

When I click, I get a clank sound and that's where we stop.

I've been having an issue with Adobe CC Fireworks. Every time I try to copy a vector shape or an image from illustrator and paste it to fireworks, I get this error: " Alert can't open the illustration". I am running OS 10.8.4. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks in advance.

In the past, I used ImageReady to create an imagemap using Photoshop layers. Is this functionality available in Fireworks? Or is there something else?

My projects usually involve maps with unique boundaries. I used to create the layers in Photoshop and then pull up ImageReady. I could select the roughness and ImageReady would generate all the XY coordinates for each layer. Then I cut-and-pasted those coordinates into a webpage that included the original image.

This was all lost with the "newer" versions of Photoshop.

Can't select or deselect in Fireworks CS6 (Mac version)

Hey guys,

So for most of the day everything was working fine, then suddenly I can't select or deselect items. Well, technically I can by DRAGGING as I select (which is very inconvenient) but there's no work around for editing text (which requires a double-click on the object).

It sounds exactly the same as this bug posted for Fireworks CS5;

Now, I have Spotify installed but I've restarted without it running and yesterday there were no problems with Fireworks at all... so I doubt it's Spotify related. Everything else sounds the same though.

I've restarted, un-installed and reinstalled the program and closed all media programs I can see. Still broken. Quite possibly something else is interfering with it but I have no idea what (since I haven't installed anything new)

This is preventing me from finishing a pretty important piece of work, so I'd REALLY appreciate a response.

Hi guys,

I have a question related to the use of a Wacom tablet with Fireworks CS6. I looked into the forum and apparently there is no answer to that. I use a Small Intuos 5 Wacom tablet with Adobe FW CS6

I work on a Mac, on Mavericks and I use frequently Fireworks CS6. I have to say that Fireworks is pretty unusable with the Wacom Tablet. I wrote to Wacom to ask for more information, but they told me (and actually it makes sense) to write to directly to Adobe, because the tablet works fine with other Adobe softwares like AI or PS and so on.

The issue

The issue comes basically from selecting objects and moving them around the screen.

Once you try to click on a object, like you would do with the mouse, it’s difficult to do it. Dragging becomes almost impossible and panning as well is very hard. What am I missing here?

I had to switch back to mouse. I am pretty sure I have got all the right drivers installed. Could you advise on some settings that maybe I can use?

I have used Fireworks for over 7 years, and I can say I know the software pretty well. Why there is this incompatibility with the Wacom Tablet?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi there,

I'm working in Fireworks CS6 at my office and the problem I have since last Friday is,

that the whole application doesn't respond properly anymore.

The tool-shortcuts doesn't work anymore. While clicking the V and A button on my keyboard

the tools eventually change thru but they're not working. So when I want do select an element

I usually have to just click it when the right arrow-tool is selected but since friday I have to

go through my layer-window to select any element.

The next problem is (just as another example) the type tool. I can't just click it and type the hell

out of that text box, NO (!!!), I have to select a word or a whole paragraph and than shift through it

with my arrow-keys on the keyboard. That's just not working well. Sometimes I can't even do it

like that and I have to restart the whole application.

Another problem appears while the zoom-tool is selected. I just can zoom in and out by clicking the

left mouse button and drag the selection open. Just clicking doesn't work anymore.

Any suggestions on how to solve that problem? I've already reinstalled Fireworks twice (also with deleting

all supporting files and preferences while uninstall the application.)

Ha! The adobe forum interface didn't let me know I was only entering a subject above - oh well. To re-iterate the old fireworks 8 would let me align gradient fill controls of multiple vectors to produce what amounted to a continuous fill across the mutiple elements - this seems to have vanished as you lose selection of the other vectors as soon as you click on the gradient fill control of one to move or rotate it etc. Is this functionality hidden or effected in some otherway in CS6?

I've been using CS3 up until today on my Window 7 machine. I decided to install CS5 today and have run into issues when trying to export slices from Fireworks.

I right click on the slice, select export selected slice as usual, select the image I want to overwrite or simply type in a new file name and click save...

I get this on my screen:

Invalid page name. Done not use the following characters: \ / : * ? " " < > |

I haven't used any of these characters and never do!

it doesn't matter even if the filename contains only letters, I still get this error.

I can't export anything and therefore I can't work.

I've searched on google and not had any relevant search results.

Can someone help??

For the past two days, whenever I try to start Adobe Fireworks CS6, the Splash menu freezes on "Initializing Keyboard Shortcuts". I have tried resetting the preferences and the program still freezes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times, and am still not getting anywhere. Any suggestions or fixes for this matter?

I've used Fireworks succussfully (without any problem) since 2010/2011: suddenly (last Friday around 6pm) it started failing to function, close or open without "internal error occurred". I did system restore... After up till 4am trying to fix it: I uninstalled reinstalled the entire CS5 and everything seems fine so far ex@cept Fireworks keeps saying "internal error occurred". I changed the configuration setting to show hidden files, don't hide extensions, the preference file inside the FW configuration folder is a word doc -0- (no preferences: I tried removing

it yesterday but it didn't altercate the internal error occurred). It seems like there is some incredibly simple fix for this issue: I've read that other persons have had this problem but I

I have a black and white logo with text and a woodcut-like image. I need the text and image to be white on a transparent background. I know how to invert my original using Filters > Adjust Color > Invert, but cannot figure out how to achieve the transparency on the now black background. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

"Export" not run in JPEG mode

If I try to export as JEPG it not let me to do, gives me an error: it seemes the file is open in other application. But it is not true.
I've just tried to disinstall and reinstall the application, but nothing changed.

The same license is installed also in one other Mac, and there the problem do not appear.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction...

I'm having a hard time getting my fonts to look "crisp", They always look grainy or as if the color is bleeding...For example if you go to adobe.com, the fonts dont look like they were drawn by someone with a shaky hand...

I am new to Fireworks so any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my Mac, I go to adobe website and click "Download" on Fireworks page. Page says "Downloading now...". Then Adobe Manager opens, and says "Fireworks CS6 up to date". However, Fireworks isn't listed in the Applications. Not sure how to get to it. (Is there no CC version of Fireworks?)

Long story short: Up until a couple weeks ago, Fireworks CS6 was working just fine on my iMac, along with the rest of CS6 (ID, PS, IL, DW). The computer started having problems, and I discovered a bad RAM board which was replaced. Then I decided to wipe the drive and do a fresh reinstallation of the OS and all software. No problems.

Except this major one: Fireworks CS6 no longer allows me to use the text tool. Attempting to select an existing text box, or trying to create a new text box results in a spinning beachball.

I use Linotype FontExplorer X. Thinking that it might be an issue with a glitch somewhere in the font libraries (which I had copied over from the drive clone I'd made before the wipe), I purged them ALL and spent two hours recreating them from scratch. Then went into FW expecting it to work. No change: spinning beachball.

I removed and reinstalled FW completely. No change: spinning beachball.

I went to use FW CS5.1, and it let me edit text again. Hooray, a temp solution to at least stay productive. However the second time I went into FW CS5.1, the same exact problem manifested. Spinning beachball.

I deleted my Fireworks preference files at root level. No change: spinning beachball.

I'm at my wits end. I have work to do! How do I fix this?

I cannot seem to select or deselect objects in fireworks by clicking on them. I have to click and drag in order to select an object and click and drag to deselect. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or how I can fix this? Thanks.

Vectors shapes dissapear or group elements are mooved to another coordinates

A month ago, I experiment some bugs on fireworks. There are shapes, that dissapear, or group elements thah disappear and when you try to select his layer, the shape appears in another coordiantes, and it's impossible to select. Mask boxes change you height by 1px and it's impossible to modify. The rounded shapes are deformed, like someone move the paths to the right.

I have a lot of desings mades with fireworks, and many files become corrupt, with this case of bugs that I've mentioned at the beginning.

A friend that also have fireworks has proved the same file, and it is perfect, but if I open the file, happens all this thing that explain on top.

What is happening?@

hey everyone...

i recently upgraded my mac and i'm running into an issue i can't explain or resolve:

if i open an image file in firworks CS6, it dramatically distorts the color (darker), saturation levels, etc. Opening the same file in the preview app or Photoshop CS6 does not.

This is driving me nuts. Fireworks is slowly becoming a complete PITA to use. Becomes unresponsive to clicks, can't select anything, have to constantly click off the art board.... the list goes on. Move mouse over an object it gets highlighted, click to select? Nothing...... Can no longer copy/paste between AI and FW....

The thing is what the hell else are we supposed to use?!?! By shedding FW Adobe has completely left lots of us web designers high and dry. PS is an awful tool for Website design as is AI, what is so difficult about creating an app that works??

We all use AI and PS (most of us anyway) FW just had a way with dealing with Master page elements, Symbols, Pages and States that made designing a site relatively straight forward until they ditched it. Why? Nobody has a clue judging by the posts on here.

All they really would have to do is add the above mentioned features to AI and I'd be happy......

If anyone has worked out what has FW doing this lately i'd be delighted for the intel.

I have an issue using the text feature in Fireworks. When I click on a text I created, nothing happens (cursor not showing). Looks like the click or double click are deactivated.

I uninstalled Fireworks and install it again but the problem remains. Do you guy experience the same issue? Thanks.

The pen tool has the little x symbol next to it always. It will not let me click on the document then click again to create paths. This is very annoying because it basically makes most of the functionality of the pen tool useless. What can I do to fix this? I have tried googling and not yet found an answer. I am using the CS6 version of Fireworks.

I restored the preferences in fireworks to the default and the problem is persisting. It does not occur on my windows machine (windows 7) only on my macbook (OS X mavericks).
