Hi,

we are migrating to new server windows 2012. One of our legacy application is using Adobe LifeCycle Forms 7.2.2 and Adobe life cycle Reader extension 7.2.2. JBoss service for Adobe LifeCycle is 3.2.5. I need help from experts here:

1. Does this version of Adobe LifeCycle is supported on Windows 2012 server?

2. If it does, is there any place where I can download it, I am not able to find the CD in my repository.

3. If it doesn't support window 2012 server, what options I have? upgrade it? anything else other than upgrade?

4. Can you point me to some document which will help to install the Adobe LifeCycle 7.2.2

Hello,

we are working on the publishing of some Adobe Livecycle PDF protected documents on a website we are working on.

We noticed an anomaly in Chrome Browser (Saphari too). The browser can't recognize PDF protected Document, so clicking to the download of the pdf document, it use "Chrome Pdf Viewer"

and shows a message to user 'Unable to open document'.

Is there any system to force the browser to open the protected pdf with Adobe reader?

The solution about asking the User to disable Chrome Pdf Viewer and enable Adobe Reader is Excluded.

I am trying to set up a universal process to create printed documents from data submitted via a watched folder. The file arrives in the folder fine. My process accepts the data the way it should but when I try to set the variables in the process from my xml input, I cannot. The process properties says nothing selected. The Set Value service is running. We have a very abbreviated version of Live Cycle ES4 with only Forms and Output purchased. Any suggestions or help with this would be appreciated. One additional note: I am not sure if this is an installation, configuration, or deployment issue. I had this working in the evaluation copy, now in the abreviated purchased copy it is not. We are new, I am tasked with converting old old jetforms to Live cycle. Thank you.

When I am on http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=livecycle_designer and select "English Windows" and click the download button it is throwing a 500 error and I am unable to download the trial LiveCycle Designer. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello

I'm evaluating the feasibility of a software solution based on Adobe Lifecycle and I will appreciate some explaination.

I'm sorry for lack of knowledge about that specific technology.

Through the use of a web platform I need to distribute (by download and/or emails) some flowable pdf modules. Final users insert data and images inside modules.

Then I need to have those data (structured inside a database) and the correspondents final printable PDFs.

Does Adobe Livecycle provide the direct connection to my input database?

I read the Adobe LC docs and I know that usually the final user re-send the PDF module via email and then it's uploaded inside the server to register data and images....but the reasons cause I want a direct connection to my database in realtime are:

1) I have not the warranty / certezza that final users will send back me the module.

2) I need to monitor the progress of works of all my users. The pdf is about 20-30 pages, so I need to know at which status of work each user is... and which fields they have edited and which not.

3) My user are not skilled in computer science so I don't exclude that they return me a wrong copy of PDF (this is a minor requirement).

In case it could be connect PDFs directly to database, ... could be a vulnerable solution because of the exposure of database on the web?

Otherwise... If is not possibile ... do exist alternative solutions that satisfy my needs?

N.B. I cannot ask to final user to make some tecnichal or specific system configuration of their desktop. The final user are not in my intranet and I don't know which operating system they use... Yes, I can put some "minimal system requirement" to use my service, but I cannot ask them not-usual or un-conventional system configurations. The users are not skilled in computer science, so the solution has to do as easy & smart as possible.

I'm not a regular user of LiveCycle Designer ES2. It came with my CS6 Master Collection, and I think I'd like to play with it. Within moments, I ran into the bug described here. After some searching, I found the page that actually talks about the available QuickFixes, and references an SP2 rollup (I am running ES2 SP2). That page says to "contact support" to obtain QuickFixes, and *that* link asks a couple of irrelevant questions and finally suggests the only available option to "contact support", which is to make a post in a community forum. WTF?

Is there some magic trick to actually talk to Adobe Support to access a QF for a product I paid for, so I can fix an acknowledged bug (plus maybe some others I haven't even run across yet)?

Hello all,

I was working on a form in LiveCycle ES4 when my computer crashed. Windows restarted and when I tried to open the from in LC, the "New Form Assistant" dialog box opened. Regardless of the option I choose in the "New Form Assistant" I receive the error of "INVALID PDF". I am guessing that since my computer crashed while I was in LC and had this particular form open, that somehow the file is now corrupt.

So my question is this, is there anyway to remedy/correct/fix this file? Does anyone know of any software programs available that are able to "fix" a corrupted pdf file?

I've been attempting to deploy ES4 on Windows 2008R2, SQL Server 2008R2 (which is on a separate server), ontop of IBM WebSphere 8.5. I've followed the current Adobe ES4 instructions but I cannot get past the "Datasource Validation" step, receiving the following error:

ADOBE LiveCycle Desinger ES 8.2 Replacement

I have ADOBE LiveCycle Desinger ES 8.2 installed on a Windows XP PC that has been replaced with a Windows 7 PC. I went to install the software on the new system and I am unable to locate the disks. I realize that this version of the program is seriously outdated but it still works for me. How can I get a replacement either in download format or by CD?

I am trying to put together the most basic POC for LiveCycle ES4 with MS SQL 2008 R2 and am having no luck. I have follow multiple tutorials from both Adobe and third parties and cannot get the most simple data connections to happen.

Objective: Create a form with First Name and Last Name fields so that the field data can be stored in and retrieved from a MS SQL server

Configuration: Server: VM with Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2 Client: Windows 8 local host with LiveCycle ES4 installed

For the server I followed the guidelines established by Adobe http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/11.0/PrepareInstallSingle/lc_prepare_install_single. pdf in Chapter 4

On the client i created an ODBC connection and successfully tested it.

In LiveCycle when i attempt to add a new data connection by right-clicking in the data view pane I do the following:

Select New Data Connection...

Give it a name (pdfpoc10)

Select OLEDB Database then click Next

Click Build on the Connection String

Select the Connection tab

Select my ODBC connection in the Source Data drop-down

In spite of having already put UN/PW info into the ODBC connection, I have to enter it again here in the UN/PW boxes

Test the connection, get a success message then click ok

In the resulting OLEDB Connection window the connection string is populated

IF I select Table - there is nothing there. Any entry will result in an error

IF I select SQL Query (preferred) and enter the following query: SELECT * FROM pdfdata I get the response "Could not execute the query "SELECT * FROM pdfdata"

I have tried several variations on this theme including:

SELECT * FROM pdfdata;

SELECT * FROM [pdfdata]

SELECT * FROM [pdfdata];

SELECT * FROM pdf_poc.dbo.pdfdata

SELECT * FROM pdf_poc.dbo.pdfdata;

SELECT * FROM [pdf_poc].[dbo].[pdfdata]

SELECT * FROM [pdf_poc].[dbo].[pdfdata];

All with the same result. When I execute the same query from inside SQL I get the result set I am expecting.

BTW: the SQL DB only has one table called "pdfdata" which only has three columns: id, first, last. The data exists in two rows: 1,Buggs,Bunny 2,Daffy,Duck

What am i missing to make this connection?

Hi all, I was looking for support pack 2 för LC ES3 designer but is only able to find non English files. After some reading I came to the conclusion that it's the Workbench 10.0.4 I should download and that will update designer as well. Can anybody confirm that I have understood it right.

A solution that we found in the installation manual is caused by different version of xercesImpl with JBoss AS 5 and suppose to use classloader.

What's the correct way to resolve this issue? As without classloader we are getting the xercesImpl and xml-apis conflict which we need both of them. Thus xercesImpl is removed from the lib.

By default, ADEP returns results from SomeProduct.SomeItems destination to Flex side as ArrayCollection of SomeCoolClass instances but I need the data to be returned in simple AS3 Arrays. Recently, I found that there is small optional serialization configuration in channel-definition that should resolve my problem. So I updated my channel-definition in services-config.xml to this:

we installed MS Office 2013 and unistalled and reinstalled 2007. after that PPT conversion is not happening at all.

registry entires has been cleared for 2013

using microsoft fix it we uninstalled 2013.

cleared all the temp folders

reinstalled completely 2007, Acrobat and Livecycle.

configured and redeployed using configuration manager.

Still no clue same error

ERROR Code 1021: livecycle couldnt launch power point. please power point installed in your system.

I have a fresh installation of Adobe LC ES4 SP1 with Jboss 5.20 in cluster , every thing is running correctly, but signed document can not be terieved by the adobe reader as apparently the bsis_url of adoebe LC ES4 server is not set.

I could not find a place to set this up. In previous version it was under server configuration, Yet this is missing.

Another questioN how can i get this quick Fix 1003-001

I have an iMac with Safari; will i be able to run LiveCycle and Designer? I cannot get past acceptance page. I want to use and update forms and it says I need Designer. I was trying the trial version but am having problems.

I am attempting to install the free 60-day trial of LiveCycle ES4. It downloads all files into the temp folder. When I begin install I can see the English and Core files in same folder. Install reaches a certain point and then states it can't recognize one or both of those files and tells me to ensure they exist and are accessible. Once I do they both disappear

When trying to import an LCA in admin console, after selecting an LCA and clicking the preview button get an exception:

Every time I try to work with LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 it "detects a problem" and bombs out. Help!

Can anyone offer some guidance on how I can resolve the issue. It was working fine and then suddenly it went wonky. I've rebooted twice, renamed files, etc to no avail.

Is there a quick fix or SP for error "Word (version XP or onward) could not be found on the machine"? The registry path fix didn't work. Livecycle ES2 (9.0.0.2), Word 2010, Windows 7 64 bit.

High CPU utilization (80%+) most of the time

We have a windows 2008 server, 4 proc machine hosting a jboss turnkey install of LC, experiencing high CPU utilization most of the time (80%+). Memory utilization remains low. Anyone experiencing this?

Problem removing trial version of LiveCycle Designer in order to install new and input license key

User installed the trial version and has been using it. Now that we have a license key to enter, they have tried to remove it so they can reinstall and enter the key. They get a mesage that there is a problem with the install and it will not remove it. We have tried to reinstall it. When they do that, they receive message that the package is corrupt. We have downloaded the package fresh a number of times now.

How can we remove the trial version so we can get it installed with the key ?

I set up a second system and installed the trial version. I then removed it with no issue. I used the same package the user has downloaded.

Inside Reader Extensions Configuration, it says Reader Extensions requires a credential.

I Installed adobe livecycle server trial. Inside Reader Extensions Configuration, it says Reader Extensions requires a credential. "this credential is issued by Adobe through email to the named licensee or through the Adobe Developer Programs." How can I get my .pfx / .p12 to test? Asking for a credential file now. Please email me a credential to use.

Issue with letter spacing

Hi all,

we are facing an issue with the pdf generation on LC ES4.

When we create a pdf comming from a word file (Arial 10, normal letter spacing), the letter spacing gets corrupt.

Especially the letters "v" and "r" will be connected to the letters before (or behind) and the letter space in the pdf is more ore less 0. See:

We tried on three different LC instalations, all with the same result.

Does anyone else face this issue and has any solution on this?

Current installation of Adobe Livecycle with JDBC driver version 5.1.14 - How can one go back to JDBC driver version 3.0?

I currently have JDBC driver 5.1.14 installed and would like to go back to JDBC driver version 3.0 to test out if that is the cause of a memory issue on another server. Can someone tell me how I can revert back to driver 3.0. I have the driver file.

I need to connect with LiveCycle Server version 9.0. I tried to do with LiveCycle Workbench ES4, but I couldn't, because this version of workbench is incompatible with this LiveCycle Server. I research in the web for a workbench version ES2, but I didn't find it. Are there a way to get this workbench version? Are there a way to connect with LiveCycle Server 9.0 from LiveCycle Workbench ES4?

I couldn't update LiveCycle Server and I need to modify a service inside.

Start of locator failed

On Windows when I try to start the TCP locators (gemfilre) after 2 - 3 minutes I get: ERROR: Operation "start-locator" failed because: Start of locator failed. The end of "D:\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle ES4\lib\caching\start_locator.log" contained this message: "". The start_locator.log exists but is empty. I run startlocator from a command window as administrator. This is a new installation of ES4 SP1 running in JBoss.

I'm new to Adobe Livecycle. I want to create a form in Adobe LiveCycle that will connect to SQL server database and pull data from it. The user will be running the form on MAC. Can this be achieved? The incident starts after all the members are removed from the DCS Stack DefaultCoreGroup view and added back again by WebSphere Application Server. Following exceptions are seen after LiveCycle was added back in again to the view.

We have a clustered environment with two nodes 2A and 2B. Server 2A crashed and therefore all members on 2B node were removed from the DCS view. Later the new core group view was installed but LiveCycle did resume operations as expected.

Errors below:
