Hi Guys,

Just wondering if a website like www.vistaprint.co.uk can be replicated in business catalyst? Could we use a third party piece of software to do it? Can we build something bespoke in catalyst?

The business wants people to be able to order business cards, flyers, posters etc online and display a custom message over the templates they may have. They also want people to be able to login and submit proofs for print, check proofs and okay the work.

Is there anyone out there that could build such a solution or is catalyst the wrong platform?

I would like to make an ecommerce site where an owner for a product, could log in and make their own product on my site.

So each "product owner" could change their own products but not the other ones.

Then i've would simple display all the owners products.

How could this be done in BC, could you make a user role that only allowed you to make a product for yourself?

I am looking for a solution for my website , I am using Business Catalyst as platform to create the website. I am looking for simple one code/plugin/HTML solution which I can copy paste in the website for the translation. I want to put google translator with flags on my website in the top right hand side. I want to translate my website in 9 languages and want to put 9 country flags on the top right hand side, which translate languages on click event on "same page" , I want the translation must take place at the same page after clicking on the flag. How-ever I successfully integrated google translate with dropdown option but want to integrate google flag translations on my website.

Please let me know what can be done here.

Hello BC users,

I am wondering if there is a way to only allow customers within a certain geographic location (a few states within the US) to purchase from a BC website. I was pointed in the direction of a JS plugin, but was wondering if there was an easier more customer friendly way around the problem. I am rather new to programming and the whole process of web-site creation so i would appreciate as simple an answer as possible.

The reason we would want to do this is because of manufacturer's contracts that limit our territory. We have the options to allow people known to only do business within our area access to the storefront and to have login information created in the back office by admin, but again not very customer friendly.

Secure Zone subscription purchase

Is there a way to override the form validation so that the price set within Catalyst for a certain secure zone does not have to match the total amount processed in the web form? The reason is that we have a secure zone with a set price in catalyst (set as monthly) but we want the web form to allow a customer to purchase that secure zone with different time durations (i.e. 3 month, 6 month and 12 month subscriptions) each with a different price. We've added radio buttons within the form to allow the user to choose the subscription package that best fits their needs. It currently doesn't work when the form processes for a certain price amount that doesn't match the price set for that secure zone in the back-end of catalyst. How can we fix this?

I have a subscription for forms. I'd like to begin collecting credit card payments. I can't seem to find informaiton on how this is done. Gateway? What does that mean? Why is it difficult to find info?

This should have been really simple. I have submitted this questions three times now as well as two separate support tickets, plus a call to Adobe support direct and basically no help at all!!!

I need to rename our premier partner site post a merger which resulted in a company name change. I have updated the Adobe ID with mixed results (some parts of the service reference the old name (e.g., Kuler) and certain support services now say that the email address is not associated with that service (really helpful when you need to actually get support).

I contacted Adobe support by phone only to be told that I needed to raise a ticket - not a problem more than happy to follow proper process! So I did that then I got a response which did not address the issue at all and basically said that if it was "TOTALLY NECESSARY" (well it's a business people we only bother with the "totally necesary" and you would think that trading under a different name with the partner site - which is meant to be used for marketing purposes (isn't that what you pay your $2000 for ??? - would be kinda necessary!!!! I mean really?).

Ok so moving, on I was informed that the case would be escalated to Level 2 technical support. Then I heared absolutely nothing for five days except an auto generated email saying the case was about to be closed as the period to provide more information had lapsed. Well I had added more information to the email several times so clearly the case was never escalated and the support staff have just put it in the to delete pile (confirmed by the fact that the case no longer appears in the active case list or the closed case list - I have the emails and the case number - so what happened to the original case??? .

So What happened Adobe / Business Catalyst - your support used to be world class. Now you're right up there with Lenovo after sales service (non existant)!

So being the persistent chap I am (plus this must be resolved otherwise the new CEO is going to go balistic) I will provide the information again in the hope that someone from support will do the right thing and address my technical problems (not to mention the serious issues with Adobe support services):

Previous Ticket number (which seems to have been ignored) 81737 and 82912 as I keep getting 5 day lapse notices even though I was informed that it would be escalated to level 2 technical support.

Could someone please do something about this as it's getting serious and we don't want the CEO getting involved (former barrister) and I don;t need the headache over what should be a relatively simple...ok this is what we are going to do....

I am currently working on a business catalyst website project and I have a trouble defining different user levels on single registeration form. Here is the detail of what I am looking for.

I have a registeration form on the site and we have two types of users, one is student and the other is professor. My client wants to just keep one form with tick boxes at bottom of the form i.e Create my account as a Student & Create my account as a Professor. So clicking on any one will process the registeration for the selected user level. (If I select Create my account as a Student, the form should register me as a Student or wise versa)

I am not sure if business catalyst offers this feature or any possiblity to achieve it. Could anyone pls give me some help on this?

Set a different form for a different e-commerce product?

I'm new to Business Catalyst, so sorry if this is an obvious question

My client wants to set up registration for a conference on their website. This would be set up as if it was a product on the site (using PayPal standard). The site currently is used for customers to purchase a physical product, and so once they have added it to the cart they are taken to a registration form which asks for their shipping and billing addresses, etc.
This is the same form that customers would currently be directed to after adding the conference registration to their cart. The thing is, my client would like to be able to ask different questions for those registering for the conference- such as dietry needs, etc, which would ideally not be asked when a customer was purchasing a physical product, rather than conference registration.

So my question is, is it possible to redirect users to a different web form, dpending on which product they buy?

Currently the only two solutions I see are first setting up a web form with the questions about dietry requirements, etc, and then redirecting them to the conference 'registration' product (but this would make it more complicated for the user), or else purchasing a seamless gateway such as PayPal Pro, and setting up the conference as different web form

Is there a way to still set up the conference registration as a product, but ask the customer different questions/ have a different form?

Below are the instructions for inserting a photo from the gallery. I have done it many times before. there is No image editor but a image manager - I did upload the images from my computer but it has no buttons to close it down, I have to refresh to close it.

*The Module button (tab?below) does not respond. The temonology of the directions are not matcing my tool bar, there is no editor button but a image manager. The tool bar is not responding or working properly? Please help Thanks

I need some help with this.

I have 4 different payment types on my registration buy online form. I want to be able to display relevant information depending on which type is selected;

if cc is selected then display cc input fields then process through payment gateway on submit

if phone for payment is selected then display phone number and times to call

if bank transfer is selected then display bank detail

if paypal is selected then process on paypal on submit.

Has anyone done this before?

I work as a designer/front end developer at www.foodmatters.tv I'm already very familiar with BC but have hit some thing way out of my skill set.

We have an American Drop shipper and we are currently looking at engaging a drop shipper to take care of our Australian orders. We have previously engaged a drop shipper in Oz, but he was a sole trader and we simply filtered the drop shipping emails to him - the new company we want to engage is a much larger scale and has a much higher capacity but are also much stricter on their requirements.

To make it a little more complicated there are two products that we stock the will only ship from the States, so any order with these products will ship entirely from the states.

I'm not sure on the exact way to describe this, but as best I can understand..

Every time an Australian order is placed we need to extract that info and convert it to a CSV then email/ftp that file to our new drop shipper.

If there are any BC partners / develepers out there who have this capacity we would love to talk to you.

We also need this done ASAP (in the next week if possible)

Seeking an experienced Business Catalyst expert to help get me through the initial learning curve. I'm an experienced DW user familiar with html but not so much with css and working with modules and the like.

Want to connect via skype call and screen share. Some work may be done on your own, but I want to learn this stuff as much as possible.

File loss issue - CSS

I had an issue today that is very, very serious. Apparently BC was having system issues with its US operations. I did not know that. I was working on a CSS file and added only a few lines to a file and tried to save. But an error came up saying the file could not be saved. I didn't think anything of it until I reopened the file and found my entire CSS file was empty!!!!!

Apparently BC should have a feature that disallows updates for all users when encountering system issues as a precaution. I know vBulletin has that when master files are updating...

Apparently, the system issue and the attempt to save the document caused the entire file to be wiped clean. Tech support is still working MANY hours later trying to restore the missing CSS file.

This is a Warning to ALL users to keep offsite backups of current pages before working on any, because APPARENTLY, BC has no fail safe backup system. We were just about to go live with this business site, but if that kind of reliability is anywhere near standard, we could be in a lot of trouble and lose a LOT of money, time and development labors.

This is so serious that I will be hesitant to recommend BC in the future if there is no ability to restore files from their own server issues!

If they can't, I may have to start restoring my design from SCRATCH after 4 weeks of development. This is NOT good.

I like BC but not sure if it's the right solution when I'm limited to what's "in the box".

Applications like SiteFinity offer this and the feature set can be extended via their API. Need advice. Anyone any thoughts on this?
