we use our invoice number to identify our webstore orders.

is there any way we can get this to display on the page crm > orders (see attached image)?

monthly statement sent to customers

hello,

we have a website where customers in a secure area order multiple times per month.

we need to send out a statement at the end of the month to these customers that have ordered. The info in the statement should be like invoice number + invoice date + invoice amount in a summary statement for the month.

is there any way to do this in BC?

any help on this would be appreciated.

Redirect to Google Analytics enriched URL

Hi,

I am trying to do a simple redirect so that i can append a url to include some google tracking info.

For example:

http://mosscreek.businesscatalyst.com/lhl

should redirect to

http://www.mosscreek.net/lhl?utm_source=log-home-living&utm_medium=print&utm_content=camas -creek_decoy-2&utm_campaign=october-2014

I've tried setting it up through the admin but it is not working.

I am also wondering if there is a way to just save the actual URL of the page as the google link. This way no redirect is needed. I tried this in the admin but it would not accept/save the URL because of the various characters.

Any help?

Taxes and shipping amounts in the reports

I don't see any way to set up custom reports to display the amount of tax or shipping that a custommer has paid! I am sure you know a person has pay the IRS sale tax it collects. So how do you figure it out if the only thing you can get out of the reports is the total price that has tax and shipping added in. I don't see any other way besides doing a whole bunch of work in spreadsheets to calculate it post export. Am I am missing something or did BC really not think to include in the itimization of these items?

Is BC really THAT inflexible?

Hi,

I am a designer who loves working with Muse and the CMS side of Business Catalyst. But now my client (a travel agency) asked if he could use the rest of BC too. Because he really wants to automate his business more. So we watched the BC video’s about CRM and eCommerce and were very excited about the possibilities.

It all seems very promising but we got stuck on, what we thought, one simple question; does it work for him too? Or is BC not that flexible?

Acknowledging our ‘expertise’ on this matter we asked somebody who has made several databases himself to dive into this.

Basically he told us that BC is nice for building websites but the CRM and eCommerce are really too inflexible. And it can’t be adjusted to what my client needs. So he says it has to be custom build database, because you can add extra fields to webforms, but these extra fields can not be connected to real fields in the database. And he says there is no way that you can combine info from separate database parts and that’s exactly what we need.

You may have guessed it, that doesn’t really clarify things for us and after seeing all the other websites running on the CRM and eCommerce side of BC we think that what we want BC to do isn’t that big a deal. So I thought I would just drop our list in the forum and hope that someone who has worked with BC can answer these questions…

What we think it needs to do:

• Booking forms differ per event (trip) and this has to go in the database, connected to the client.

• Automated confirmation after payment.

• Automated notification if payment is due.

• Listing of clients data (from booking form and the extra fields) including payment status.

What we would like it to do:

• Clients can go on multiple trips and have a login to change settings etc.

• Newsletters can be automatically send and monitoring/overview of succes rate etc.

And it would be especially great if:

• Email exchange between the agency and the clients can be ‘joined’ in the CRM.

• Visitors of the site can see (per trip) how many people (and their age) are going

So, basically my questions about Business Catalyst are these:

• Can the Events module be changed to add fields like “Passport number”, “Travel date”, “Occupation”, etc? Because my client is in the travel business and he needs extra information.

• Is it possible to change the CRM by adding fields that connect to the Events Module and the Client information?

Our sites are coming up with errors in the speed analytics programs for not having a browser cache. I know that we can't access the .htaccess file but is there any other way on epeak to create the ability to have browser caching?

I'm having trouble with webmaster tools recognising our domain name change.

We've recently updated website and done a name change from www.qldtshirt.com.au to www.qtco.com.au. I am using domain forwarding so qldtshirt.com.au forwards to qtco.com.au (aswell has with www.) and every thing works perfectly.

http://www.qtco.com.au/products/clothing/polo-shirts/cool-dry-fabric

We have about 4000 301 redirects setup in URL Redirects:
/products/business-and-corporate/desk-and-office/100-organic-cotton-pencil-case to

/products/gifts-incentives/desk-and-office/100-organic-cotton-pencil-case

so on and so on....

I've verified all sites in webmaster tools however when change of address from www.qldtshirt.com.au to www.qtco.com.au webmaster tools presents this error:

"301 redirect failed. We detect that the root address of your old site (www.qldtshirt.com.au) does not yet redirect to the root address of your new site (www.qtco.com.au). For more information use the Fetch as Google tool."

It works perfectly fine for the end user, anyone know why and how to fix please?

Hello,

I have a client with an online job application form. When people apply for a job, an email with the attachment is sent to users at the company. Unfortunately, the user's email went down for a week and now there is a backlog of 30 or 40 workflow notifications in the system.

I'm wondering if there is a way to forward cases with their attached files in bulk? (i.e. CRM --> Cases)

Can anyone please help in pointing me to the direction in running a report on custom CRM forms? I'm still very new to BC and I've been looking around but haven't been able to find out how. I've been looking under REPORTS --> CUSTOM REPORTS but not able to find the fields required.

Would this be because the form is in the Back - End? If so how can this be retrieved and viewed?

Leverage Adobe marketing knowledge in BC

It seems to me that Adobe could add significant value to Business Catalyst (and themselves) by taking some of the marketing features from its enterprise marketing solutions (or write from scratch) and offer these as a lower cost option on Business Catalyst to suit small business owners.

This would give Business Catalyst a big advantage, especially leveraging the all-in-one integrated features of the software, adding new features such as easy A/B Split testing, stronger analytics and campaigns etc.

Has this topic come up before and does anyone know if Adobe has any plans in this area?

I was wondering if anyone can answer some questions for me in regards to BC. We have looked all over and have been on chat with Adobe reps and no one can answer what the guaranteed up time for hosted sites is. What is the actual average up time? And does the hosting company use SQL server. Also we would like to know what the guaranteed successful delivery rate is for email marketing. Email Campaigns will not display images on gmail accounts sent through business catalyst

Hi there,

Everytime I send an email campaign through business catalyst the images will not show up on a gmail account.

I have reset all the settings on my gmail account so that I can recieve emails with images but the campaign will

still not display. Is there some sort of setting on business catalyst that needs to be changed so that subscribers

to my store can see the monthly newsletters?

I am looking for a solution for my website , I am using Business Catalyst as platform to create the website. I am looking for simple one code/plugin/HTML solution which I can copy paste in the website for the translation. I want to put google translator with flags on my website in the top right hand side. I want to translate my website in 9 languages and want to put 9 country flags on the top right hand side, which translate languages on click event on "same page" , I want the translation must take place at the same page after clicking on the flag. How-ever I successfully integrated google translate with dropdown option but want to integrate google flag translations on my website.

Please let me know what can be done here.

Heads should roll. The new release reminds me of the Obama Care website launch. How can you overlook the porting over of data such as HTML email signatures? Can't add attachments! Who was checking the list before they launched this piece of #!$!. I can't believe how slow this release is. Just logging in takes too long. Navigate anywhere and you have to wait for the program to interpret your request. Start typing a contact to auto load their email address and the program lags.

Add an attachment? Finally. But why does it take so long? Send --- what am I waiting for now? Good grief this sucks. I can't imagine what my clients are experiencing.

I don't even know who to register my complaints! Totally amateur. Should never of been released without thorough testing. Idiots. This reflects on my business recommendations and your reputation as well. Total FLUNK.

Can business catalyst be used on external content

Export Secure Zone Username Report

Strangely enough, I just found that while I can export a report with contacts' usernames and I can export a report with contacts and their secure zones, I can't export a report with both secure zones and each contact's username.

Can you help me work out how I could do it?

Even a thought on how to combine the two csv files with a script?

Ad Words Conversion Tracking

We are using Google Ad Words and it calls for specific parameters to be added ad the end of the URL link in the ad as follows: /?keyword=florida%20business%20valuation.
The issue is that when this is added to the URL string, the BC server displays a "Page Not Found" - when the / is removed the page is now found. We are not sure if the data is being collected without the /.

Why would it work without the / and not with the / ?

Any help will be great.

I've developed a website with Adobe Muse. My website is hosted by Business Catalyst. The website displays resources, mostly links to other websites. I don't keep any information about my visitors, there is no registration. I haven't any forum or blog, just a contact form with the BC Captcha (the hardest one to read).

A visitor from Germany, always the same town, is coming on my website periodically. It looks like every half an hour, night and day. The number of visits equals the number of page views.

The Adobe help/support line has no answer about that. I'm not a web designer at all, I don't use HTML programming, just Muse. I'd like to make it stop because this problem is modifying my website analytics. I'm using the visitors geographic location to find sponsors because it's a non-profit project.

Any idea of what is happening? How to fix it?

track form submission through google analytics

I am using Muse to create the basis for my sites and mostly host on BC. I would like to track form submits through google analytics and created the tracking code through Raven tools. The muse form I create shows in BC, and I can go in and customize the html code, but the form does not track in GA. When I checked the "live" code on the site, the BC changes were not reflected in my live form code. Does anyone have a way to track form submissions in BC using Muse?

I would like to enable site search tracking in Google Analytics for a non-eCommerce BC site but I do not know what query parameters I need to use to enable site search tracking - can anyone help?!

I can turn Site search tracking 'on' in Analytics but it requires the query parameters to be entered e.g. 's' or 'q'. I have the option of selecting 'strip query parameters out of URL' but I'm not sure what this does and what needs to be done in the backend of BC?

Usually, when an internal search is done within a website (and in this case it is www.newcastleairport.com.au), the URL will indicate the parameters by adding a 'en&q' in the URL. To test what metric would be used for the Airport, I did a search on 'annual report' and the following URL came up (not containing an en&q)

Any help would be appreciated. There was a previous discussion re this subject but it remained unanswered but there was a suggestion around using javascript within a web app?

When, as a result of MULTIPLE automated marketing activities, we see that a person has reached a particular level of activity with us (e.g. clicked through a certain number of times, requested downloads of articles, and registered for events), we need an easy way to receive a notification that person has done multiple things so that we can identify them as a hot prospect. I've created a report that I would like my BC site to email on a daily basis to my customer, so they see all the details of bookings.

I am wondering if there are tags available tags Like {ReportID=1289} and/or {tag_booking id(tag_event}} that I can pull from the Custom Reports Section, to get the Event Bookings to display as a list in my email "campaign" (Set to run each day at a certain time). These are probably undocumented tags.

Backup and restore recurring orders

In light of some recent events at our company, we are looking at the best ways to ensure that we have a robust system for taking responsibility for our own data.

Webapps, files, ecommerce data, the CRM and regular orders we can see ways to achieve this (we have installed the Backup BC app, which helps with this, but it looks like at the moment that our CRM is too big on 2 of our 3 sites to take adavantage of this).

I can see that we can back up the order details and that they have the recurring details included, but my question is what would be the process of restoring these recurring orders in the event that we had some kind of error. How would the credit card details be re-instated, as they are not included in the information that you can extract from BC (we understand why that isn't included). I'm assuming that CC details are stored in our payment gateway (eWay), but would you be able to reconnect the payments if the orders were restored from a backup/csv

Any help is apprecitated.

Page Views by Day for Last 3 Months period

Hi all, we are looking at Reports --> Website Content --> Pages --> analytics for a specific page. We can get number of views for the page by day when selecting the "Last Week" and "Last Month" timeframes, but when we select "Last 3 Months", it only groups views by month (not by day), which is not very informative. Is this possible to do another way? I already tried creating a Custom Report but could not specify any applicable filters.

This should have been really simple. I have submitted this questions three times now as well as two separate support tickets, plus a call to Adobe support direct and basically no help at all!!!

I need to rename our premier partner site post a merger which resulted in a company name change. I have updated the Adobe ID with mixed results (some parts of the service reference the old name (e.g., Kuler) and certain support services now say that the email address is not associated with that service (really helpful when you need to actually get support).

I contacted Adobe support by phone only to be told that I needed to raise a ticket - not a problem more than happy to follow proper process! So I did that then I got a response which did not address the issue at all and basically said that if it was "TOTALLY NECESSARY" (well it's a business people we only bother with the "totally necesary" and you would think that trading under a different name with the partner site - which is meant to be used for marketing purposes (isn't that what you pay your $2000 for ??? - would be kinda necessary!!!! I mean really?).

Ok so moving, on I was informed that the case would be escalated to Level 2 technical support. Then I heared absolutely nothing for five days except an auto generated email saying the case was about to be closed as the period to provide more information had lapsed. Well I had added more information to the email several times so clearly the case was never escalated and the support staff have just put it in the to delete pile (confirmed by the fact that the case no longer appears in the active case list or the closed case list - I have the emails and the case number - so what happened to the original case??? .

So What happened Adobe / Business Catalyst - your support used to be world class. Now you're right up there with Lenovo after sales service (non existant)!

Old user email: (this is the origina ladmin user id that was used to request the move): veridicalconsulting@me.com

The new Partner Name: (this is the new Partner Portal name we want our partner site moved to): DMS.Group or DMS Group or DMS-Group depending on any naming convention restrictions.

The new Partner URL: (the Partner's website address should be changed to): dms-group.businesscatalyst.com

The new Partner user email: dms.group@icloud.com (since changing this email does not access the support website - error 4)

Permission to rename domain: Yes I formally request to have my partner site renamed per the details above

Previous Ticket number (which seems to have been ignored) 81737 and 82912 as I keep getting 5 day lapse notices even though I was informed that it would be escalated to level 2 technical support.

Could someone please do something about this as it's getting serious and we don't want the CEO getting involved (former barrister) and I don;t need the headache over what should be a relatively simple...ok this is what we are going to do....

System status - Was BC down

Is there a way to tell if the system was down? I'm aware of http://status.businesscatalyst.com/ which is great for real time updates, but I'm looking into a series of failed transactions that all happened within about an hour of each other and my best idea is that BC (NA data center) was down, is there an easy way to find out?

Hi there,

I am currently working on a business catalyst website project and I have a trouble defining different user levels on single registeration form. Here is the detail of what I am looking for.

I have a registeration form on the site and we have two types of users, one is student and the other is professor. My client wants to just keep one form with tick boxes at bottom of the form i.e Create my account as a Student & Create my account as a Professor. So clicking on any one will process the registeration for the selected user level. (If I select Create my account as a Student, the form should register me as a Student or wise versa)

I am not sure if business catalyst offers this feature or any possiblity to achieve it. Could anyone pls give me some help on this?

I would like to know how to show the subdirectory when reporting Website Content web pages. For example I have index.html files in several subdirectories and would like to report on them. Unfortunately the only reporting I can do is by web page name which does not tell me which subdirectory it is from.

How can I create a domain with 2 subdomains that access 2 separate CMS systems?

Hi All,

I am rather new to BC. Our company has a office on the westcoast and one on the east coast. Initially the web structure would look like Home Page > Click East Coast or West coast. I need to set up our website so that our east coast office has their own username and password to manage CRM and client leads and can not see what is going on the west coast and vise versa. I would like each office to have their own subdomain pointing to the respective region. Anyone have experience with this or can offer a solution?

I want to look at the traffic/visitors who go to a specific page. Despite my searching the knowledge base, I can't see how to do this. To me, this is 'Web reports 101' - ie, a basic requirement, but it doesn't seem possible?

Does anyone know how to block international traffic to a BC website? We recieive a flood of traffic for international countries that drastically distort our analytic reports. Thanks for any help....
