Why can't I sync my files?

Creative Cloud file sync services are currently unavailable. We're working to restore service as soon as possible. To disable error alerts you can Turn Sync Off or Quit Creative Cloud Connection.

How to turn off “Unable to Sync Files” or “Unable to Connect” messages from Creative Cloud Connection desktop sync app

1. Quit Creative Cloud Connection if its running. Click on the Creative Cloud icon in your Mac Menu Bar and select “Quit Creative Cloud Connection”

Alternately, you can force quit Creative Cloud Connection by using the Mac OS Activity Monitor app (/Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor)

2. Quit System Preferences. If the Mac OS System Preferences are open you need to go to the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Quit System Preferences.

How to turn off “Unable to Sync Files” or “Unable to Connect” messages in Creative Cloud Connection desktop sync app

Exit Creative Cloud Connection if it is running. Go to the Windows Notification Area (aka System Tray), click Show Hidden Icons button, select the Creative Cloud icon, and click Exit.

Alternately, you can open the Windows Task Manager and force quit Creative Cloud Connection.exe.

A number of people have reported trouble updating from 1.0 to 1.0.5. A few of you have been able to overcome problems by first uninstalling then reinstalling. I've created a visual guide on how to do this on the Mac.

Mac 1.0 uninstall, 1.0.5 install instructions

1. Quit Creative Cloud Connection -If its running, go to the Mac Main menu, select the Creative Cloud Icon and select "Quit the Creative Cloud Connection"

Alternatively: You can also force quit Creative Cloud Connection by using the Mac OS Activity Monitor app (/Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor)

2. Quit System Preferences - Go To Apple Menu->System Preferences->Quit System Prefernces.
Creative Cloud Connection preferences are in the Mac OS System Preferences. System Prefrences need to be quit before uninstalling.

3. Launch Uninstaller- Go to Applications/Adobe Creative Cloud Connection and click Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud Connection

4. Uninstall- Follow the Uninstall instructions. Note: Its not necessary to Remove Preferences

5. Go to creativecloud.com- Go to http://creative.adobe.com/apps and Sign in with your Adobe ID

6. Download 1.0.5- Scroll down to Creative Cloud Connection and click Download

7. Follow Adobe Application Manager prompts - Follow any instructions on the pop up (this step may not be necessary if you have Adobe Application Manager installed)

8. Sign in to Adobe Application Manager - (may not be necessary if you've previously signed in from another sesssion)

9. Install 1.0.5 - Scroll down to Creative Cloud Connection and click "Install" and installation will begin

10. Click "Launch App"

11. Check Version as 1.0.500.17- Go to Mac Menu, select the Creative Cloud icon and view Preferences to check the version as 1.0.500.17

12. Try out new 1.0.5 features- From Preferences click "Advanced" to see the new Transfer Speed and Folder Location features

How to uninstall Creative Cloud Connection 1.0 and install 1.0.5

1. Quit the 1.0 - If Creative Cloud Connection is running, go to the Windows Notification Area (aka System Tray), click Show Hidden Icons button, then select the Creative Cloud icon, and click Exit.

2. Uninstall 1.0 - From the Windows Control Panel->Program Files area uninstall Creative Cloud Connection

4. Uninstall - Run the uninstaller and be sure to click "Close" at the end of the process

5.Go to creative.adobe.com/apps and sign in with your Adobe ID

6. Scroll down to Creative Cloud Connection preview and click "Download"

Note: You may need to follow instructions to install or update Adobe Application Manager

7. Sign in to Adobe Application Manager

8. Scroll down to Creative Cloud Connection and click "Install" and then Launch when it's complete.

9. Note you may be asked to Merge or Create New Folder

10. Go to the menu on task bar and click Settings to verify the Version as 1.0.500.17

11. Go to Advanced Tab to check out the new Transfer speed and Folder location options:

Creative Cloud Connection preview is an app that runs on your computer, and allows you to easily manage your files on Creative Cloud. When installed, it creates a local folder on your computer whose content matches everything stored on your account on the Creative Cloud Files page. Here's how to get Creative Cloud Connection on your machine:

First, go to the Apps page of creative.adobe.com and click "Download" under Creative Cloud Connection preview. Alternatively, you can launch the Adobe Application Manager from your applications folder, and click download from the manager window.

Once the Creative Cloud Connection has launched, it will begin syncing your files currently stored on Creative Cloud.

And you're all set to start syncing your files using Creative Cloud Connection!
