multiple flash files to dvd

Hi,

I've been tossed into an existing project that was created using Flash CS6. I'm at a complete loss as I've little to no Flash experience. I have multiple flash files that appear to be organized as individual slides, a flash menu file that works as the dvd menu should, and a slew of other system type files like autorun. I've been tasked to make updates to the individual slides (this part is done) and recreate the dvd. It's the latter that I'm having trouble with. I have no idea how to take all of these files and burn them to a dvd with funtioning menu that will auto launch when put into drive. Can anybody help me through this process?

We use Flash as our main tool to create eLearning for our organization. The CC seems to have dropped the SCORM 1.2 and 2004 tracking methods from the HTML Wrapper.

Is there any way to get this back?

Hey guys, I am new to Flash and I am trying to create one project but it goes hard to beginners.

I have created a background with couple of text input fields and a "send" button with some funny effects. Now, when I insert text into the input fields and click "SEND" I want the information to arrive on my email. How do I do that ?

We're using Flash CC 2014 to create hs/html based interactives. One thing we've come across, is sometimes the published files fail to run. It seems like the export fails to include random clips in the library, so you get errors when it attempts to instantiate them, eg...

this.instance_1 = new lib.c_hand("synched",0);

Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function

Is this something that happens if the scene gets to complicated?

Is there any way to debug what's going on inside the export script?

It's kind of killing our production flow.

Eyedropper tool picks the wrong color, solutions?

As the title says, it picks the wrong color.

This is not my video but it is basically like that except when he uses the color picker under the fill or paint tool. Mine acts exactly the same way and same with the eyedropper tool.

I can't really pick any color on the work, it will give me the wrong color EXCEPT for the swatches.

I am using the surface pro 3 with adobe flash professional cc 2014.

I don't know if its the color settings, the screen rotation or the 2160 x 1440 resolution that it uses. Help will be greatly appreciated.

Actually, my adobe is acting exactly the same in that video.

The eyedropper doesn't work properly for me when it comes to multiplayer layers, and symbols within a symbol.

I found a workaround for me, I just use a new window with 1 layer and i lay all my symbols out and break them out of the symbol so this way I can properly select the precise color I want with the eyedropper tool.

Preferably, I would like a fix for this.

Hi, I have a problem whit exporting files from Indesign cc 2014 -> Flash pro cc.

When i open a exported document in flash im missing elements and the animations.

I get some images and text but never vecorbased rectangles or anything graphical made in indesign.

Is the fla export function broken? I looked at several tutroials and guides but i can't find anything about this problem.

Is the workflow from indesign these days -> eps->ai->flash-animation->save?

SWF size after importing JPG

Hi.

I create new FLA file.

Import 275KB in size a JPG file to it.

After I add it to the stage and compile SWF file I can see the size of SWF is about the same as that JPG (now wonder there is almost nothing more over there) but bitmap was compressed

and looks awful.

When I return and in bitmap properties set compression from Photo(JPEG) to LOSSLESS(PNG/GIF) then the quality is as in original but after compilation the size of SWF file is 2,422KB.

So I have normal size but poor quality or size 8 times of a bitmap with original quality.

Does anyone know what is wrong with that Flash Professional CS6?

As the titel says, i have a flashfile im working on, a banner. I noticed that the size made a huge jump when i added a textbox (just added text, no animation/dynamic etc). So i tested to write the same line of text in an empty flashfile, and it jumped from 0 to 21kb. There has to be something wrong, this cant be right. I am also using Myriad Pro, so no funky crazy font. Fonts have always been a 1-3kb in size, so u can understand my dilemma.

Is there some sort of setting that i can fiddle with? From what i can see, i have no setting telling the font to be embedded or simular.

I REALLY need some help with this issue.

Why do x and y values of objects on stage not reflect actual pixels?

I am placing a large bitmap on my stage, and the left and top edges of the bitmap are both 13 pixels offset from the edge of the stage- but the Properties window gives a value of 142 for x and y for the object. Why?

I have finished my cartoon but I wound up with two of the frame lines extending out beyond the end of the work. How do I remove them?

Flash freezes in Firefox when I scroll the mouse wheel over a drop down list or text field (possibly others as well).

Whenever I scroll in a drop down menu in Flash in Firefox (for example, I move the mouse wheel just one detent), it just continues scrolling on its own all the way to the bottom of the list and freezes all interaction for about 10 seconds. It's really bizarre.

If I start click and dragging things, nothing happens, and then all of the sudden everything catches up and moves. As an experienced programmer, I can say that it looks like some kind of queuing of keyboard/mouse events with delayed execution. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I found something from 2008 that sounds similar, although I am not using the sIFR they mentioned: sIFR mouse wheel scrolling freeze in Firefox - Stack Overflow

Seems to be a Firefox-specific issue, although it also seems to be something that has just recently started occurring since updating Firefox.

UPDATE: I was checking my Firefox version in Help > About Firefox, and it showed version 33, but also had a pending update so I restarted Firefox. The problem was no longer occurring at that point. When I checked the version again, it said 33.0.2, but it also said "applying update", with another pending restart. I restarted Firefox again. It's now stable at version 33.1. So perhaps it was a problem with that particular version, or even a temporary issue with that running browser instance.

Flash plante pendant la publication après intégration des icônes personnalisées dans l'onglet "ICONES" et FICHIERS INCLUS" des paramétres de publication (PNG transparent).

La version sans icônes fonctionne parfaitement.

Flash CS6 Air to iOS "Edit Application Settings" menu not coming up. No way to publish to iOS.

Using a freshly re-installed and updated Flash CS6 on a 64-bit Macbook OS X 10.9.4. I've tried various combos of Air 3.2, 3.4, 14, and 15, since yesterday, and I'm getting the same result. Just two days ago everything about this setup was working flawlessly. I was compiling and pushing Air apps to my iPad for testing. Early yesterday morning I tried this and got a message that I didn't save, but was something along the lines of "This installation is not setup for this process" or something. Since then, when I click on the wrench to bring up the Edit Application Settings menu, nothing happens. This is true if I click on it next to target in the properties pane, or if I go to Air to iOS Settings from the File dropdown menu.

The other strange part of this is that if I open some older projects, I can get the menu to come up again. But on the project I was working on it doesn't. And if I create a new, blank FLA file and go straight to settings, it also doesn't work. And if I attempt it and it doesn't work, if I close the file that wasn't working it crashes Flash completely.

It seems like some database or cache is corrupt but I did a full uninstall (using adobe cleaner) and reinstall, and it's still happening. I found one old thread on google about this same problem, and the solution given was to delete Library/Application Support/iPadApp/Local Store/appDB.db, but I don't even have this file to delete.

Pretty much can't produce my content like this so I'm a sitting duck. Any info would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post here so I apologize if I'm missing something.

I recently downloaded the trial version of Flash Pro CC. This was in the past few days so I have the newest version. I'm running Mac Yosemite (10.10). Whenever I run a test I'm given nothing but a blank white screen. Debug isn't available as an option (I think because it's a trial) and the play button won't allow interactions if I'm not mistaken. I really don't want to export every time I need to test a project. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks a million.

FlashCC Keyboard shortcuts not working

Hi,

I've been using Flash ever since it was owned by Macromedia, and I can't seem to get my head around the keyboard shortcuts in CC. I used to be able to assign convert to symbol to page up and insert frame, keyframe and blank keyframe to F13, F14 and F15, and none of this works anymore. If you use the fn key to input them as keyboard shortcuts, it just puts a blank space. What happened, why is it happening and is there any way around? Hitting multiple keys together really isn't an option for these functions (seeing as you use them a couple thousand times each projects) and I'd really, really like to be able to use the same keys I've been using for years. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm suppose to create a parallax background on Flash but for some reason, Flash won't let me import anything on stage or in the library. I made the background in Photoshop and I'm trying to import it in Flash and it won't give me the option of importing the image. I saved the background as PNG and PSD and even tried JPEG but it still won't let me. I don't understand why and I even tried to import the sprites that I imported and animated on Flash from previous classes and it also won't let me import it either. I checked if I need to update Flash but CC said that everything is Up to Date.

I followed the steps that I was taught in class when I try to import my background. I basically just open Flash, create new symbol (movie clip) then File > Import > Import to Stage (I'm in the symbol, I checked) and Flash won't let me import it (it's shaded in grey). That's how I remember importing my sprites and I quickly checked my notes and I seem to be doing everything correctly. Please help and thank you!!

Please Help.

I am unable to open the Player Settings pane for iOS.

I can get to the Player Settings for Android and everything else, but if I try to open player settings for iOS, at first nothing happens and then after a while Flash IDE crashes.

It was working at one point yesterday. I was resolving an issue I had related to provisioning profiles. And then all of a sudden I am unable to get to this panel.

I have run uninstall, and CC cleaner and removed all things Adobe from my machine and did a fresh reinstall of Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium.

I started a brand new project and still, no Player Settings pane for iOS.

Please Help!

Deletion of selected actions text, immediately after selecting an actions panel

I am on Flash 14.1.0.96 on Mac OSX 10.9.5 on a MacBook pro.

This concerns an issue whereby text in the actions panel is automatically deleted. This seems to happen once the action panel has gained focus, so could be going from stage to panel, or even from another actions panel. The moment anything is selected after bringing focus to the actions panel, it is immediately deleted. This is not only very frustrating but also potentially catastrophic. It is not always obvious that anything has been deleted.

I have attached a video of what I mean. In this I select different action panels and the moment I start selecting anything in the panel, it is deleted. I am not hitting delete and there is no stuck delete button or anything obvious like that.

Problem to access iOS Simulator from Flash CC

Hi, after upgrading to Xcode 6.0.1, I can not test apps from Flash CC, via "Control"> "Test Movie". I get the "unable to launch iOS Simulator from the following location..." message.

The path I'm using (SDK for iOS Simulator) is: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/S DKs/iPhoneSimulator8.0.sdk

Every time I draw with the brush, and once I lift my pen away (or unclick the mouse), Flash decides to select the drawing, and once I start drawing my next part, it un-selects the first drawn line and selects the new one, and keeps doing this over and over again.

I start drawing with the brush, and on 'Properties' it says 'Brush'. But once I've drawn, and let go, 'Properties' now says 'Drawing object'. (And it definitely wasn't doing this before. In-fact, 'Properties' remained saying 'Brush', and not changing at all - so hence me knowing that something has gone tits-up!

It wasn't doing this last time I used it, so I must have knocked a button / command or what-not.

I'm new to Flash, hence not knowing what the hell has just happened.

(And I don't want someone answering this telling me that I have to MAKE SURE its a real version, and not actually answering my bloody question.)

So if you are capable of actually answering this for me, then please do.

And don't 'answer' with something irrelevant!

Edit application settings AIR for iOS not working

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a .ipa so I can test my app on my iPhone but my Flash cs6 will no longer let me edit application settings so I can publish the file.

The first time I did it, it was working fine. I added my certificate and my Provisioning Profile and published a .ipa file.

Now, when I click the wrench tool icon or go through the file menu and select AIR for iOS settings, nothing happens. All it does is generate an .xml file for me ("filename"-app.xml).

What is wrong and how can I fix this?

I've tried rebooting.

I have the same problem on Flash cs6 and Flash cs5.5 on two different computers.

I have an iOS development Certificate.

I have an iOS development Provisioning Profile.

imported files not coming in at 0,0

I hope this is not a double post, but I dont see the previous post come up in Recent..

Anyway, when I import images or video they never come in at 0,0. Often the are at x 0.45, y 0.45. And thats if I hit ctrl+1 to center the stage. I understand that I can edit multiple frames but its a real hassle. I only saw one other post on this subject from 2007. Am I one of only two people that have this issue?

I use Flash CS6 and conversion to HTML5 with CreateJS is a problem for someone with my limited expertise. I am looking into Flash CC and the Adobe description states that when you create a new Flash file, one option is "HTML5 Canvas", which doesn't exist in Flash CS6. If one selects this option, is the conversion to HTML5 simplified as comparison to trying to go to HTML5 from Flash CS6?

Adobe Flash CS6: I have two scenes, each with its own animation. When I test the animation (in browser or Flash Professional), as the animation of the first scene is playing, the content from the second scene will suddenly appear, only to disappear right after (it only lasts less than a second).

Stick Figure problem

Hi everyone,

I'm actually new (not that new) to Flash and I need a little help about creating a stick figures.

I have seen one guy on YouTube who posted a video with stick figures https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VufDd-QL1c0

Now, what I want to know is:

How this guy makes the animation (the stick figures) so smooth, he is not drawing them keyframe by keyframe for sure

because as you can see the stick figure's arms are so smooth and the lines are all the same (there are no bold or thin ones in different keyframes).

He is not using the bone tool also because they are elastic and bone tool can't do that.

What is he using actually to do the animation with the stick figures but the body parts and animation to remain same and smooth ?

Well, I have an issue with the software FLASH MX! Yes I know it dates from 2004, and there's a new version in etc ... But i want to use Only this one )

Anyway, I only want to use flash MX, all goes well, the problem is when I created a clip, and I want to get into it ... the animation of "zoom" (the outline of the clip that expanded zoom in) is very vERY slowly, like, 30 pixels by 30 pixels ... which is annoying ...

then this is a graphics card problem? I do not think .... options to enable / disable? less

BUG - in flash pro CC, 'bold' and 'italic' properties of TextFormat have no effect on rendered text

Concise problem statement:

If you compile with flash pro CC, and use the 'setTextFormat' method of a TextField, the 'bold' and 'italic' properties of the TextFormat argument have no effect on the rendered text. If you compile with flash pro CS6, the 'bold' and 'italic' properties work as expected.

Apparently, with flash pro CC, the only way to make the text render correctly is to change the font name (add the suffix ' Bold', ' Italic', or ' Bold Italic'.) This means code which dynamically changes font styles only works in CS6 or CC, but not both. For example, if you use the 'bold' property the text renders bold in CS6 and regular in CC, whereas if you change the font name to add the suffix ' Bold', the text renders bold in CC and DOES NOT RENDER at all in CS6. This makes it difficult to transition a team from CS6 to CC.

Steps to reproduce bug:

1. Create an xfl with 2 TextFields on the stage, both with font "Trebuchet MS" and style "regular", one named boldTrueText containing the String "bold = true", one named fontNameText containing the String "fontName = Trebuchet MS Bold". Create 2 more TextFields on the stage for visual reference, both with font "Trebuchet MS", one with style "regular", one with style "bold".

2. Add the following code to the Actions panel on frame 1:

import flash.text.TextFormat;

import flash.text.Font;

var format:TextFormat = boldTrueText.getTextFormat();

format.bold = true;

boldTrueText.setTextFormat(format);

format = fontNameText.getTextFormat();

format.font = "Trebuchet MS Bold";

var fonts:Array = Font.enumerateFonts(), count:int = fonts.length;

for (var i:int = 0; i < count; i++) {

With flash pro CC, the following is traced:

If you don't want to break backward compatibility (any further), you could make both the behaviors work in flash pro CC, like so:

With flash pro CC, "bold = true" renders bold (font is still "Trebuchet MS"), and "fontName = Trebuchet MS Bold" renders bold also.

With flash pro CC, the following is traced:

fontName: Trebuchet MS, fontStyle: bold

fontName: Trebuchet MS, fontStyle: regular

fontName: Trebuchet MS Bold, fontStyle: bold

I submitted this bug with the bug form, and also with adobe bugbase (in case it isn't obsolete) - I'm just trying to maximize my chances of getting a fix. Has anyone else encountered this bug?

Flash 'Unexpected File Format' Save corruption

Hello.

We recently upgraded to Windows 7 64Bit from Windows XP here at work, and since the upgrade i've discovered a very scary issue with Flash.

When going to save one of my large projects, often Adobe simply crashes outright, freezing up and displaying a standard error message.

"Adobe Flash CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." - with an option for "Close program"

I hit close program, and Flash disappears. If I try and open that same FLA file again, I get the error message

"Unexpected File Format"

Unfortunately it seems since Flash is crashing in the middle of saving, it is corrupting my FLA file. This is extremely worrying, since it corrupts my entire source file.

I'm lucky I keep regular backups, otherwise I could have lost months of work instead of just todays. In the meantime I have been copying and pasting a new version of the file each time I open Flash, but it's a crapshoot whether next time I save if it will kill it or not.

Here's the details of my computer:

OS: Windows 7 - Recently upgraded from 32bit Windows XP

64 Bit Intel Xeon X5560 @ 2.80 Ghz

4GB Ram

The Flash CS5 version is 11.0.0.485

The FLA in question is 10MB, and contains some large map files (gifs), lots of small JPG's as well as a fair chunk of code as well as importing of external classes. I've tried replicating the issue on smaller files, and haven't been able to do so.

I was wondering if it was a case of not enough memory, but Flash appears to use around 450 mbs. About 40% of my total memory is free, according to the Task Manager performance.

Any ideas what could fix this issue?

I am in desperate need of someone's help. For the second time I cannot open 2 FLAs that I have more than 100 design hours invested. I'm running CS5 and need to find out what can be done? I am afraid to do anything with the fear this will happen again, I have got to open these files and finish the projects. How can this be done or what can resolve the issue.

I cannot believe ADOBE would release CS5 with such a serious problem. This is damn near life and death, these two files represent a $200k account.

Hi. I'm trying to get my AIR application to load a PDF document from the dialog box using File Reference Class.

With the code that I have if I use a regular Loader then I can get a PNG image to load into a container and display on the screen. But PDF's require HTML Loader which seems not to accept event.target.data because it is expecting a String.

This is the error I got

TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "[object FileReference]" to flash.net.URLRequest.

I have created a new HTML 5 canvas file in Flash. When I try to import video it is greyed out in the menu. Is there a way I can import video into this file, or link to a video?

Symbol graphic won't move in main timeline?

(I just bought Flash and am a beginner please forgive me.)

I've made a symbol, a graphic, of a character's eyes blinking a few times, shifting position, then blinking and moving back. It moves fine and looks okay in the symbol's timeline, but when I play it in the main timeline, the blinking works but it refuses to shift places, it just bounces back and forth. I tried making it a motion and classic tween, (instead of having it move through several keyframes as I started with.) Does anyone know why this may be happening? Thanks everyone.

I know that in the "Properties" window there is a "Scale" drop-down, but it doesn't work. When I scale in free transform, the stroke doesn't scale unless its in a movieclip.

Hi there:

I'm importing an image sequence (71 images) to my stage. Both the Stage and the images are 1200px square. When I import the images, they all end up at roughly x:242 y:2. Am I doing something wrong, or is there an easy way to get them back to the top left of stage?

I have to do this for 32 FLAs each of 71 frames, and would hate to have to manually set each image to the proper position...

I'm very new to Flash and would like to know firstly how I create a movieclip, and then how to make the movieclip into a rollover button (having the animation play when the cursor is over the button, and it pausing/restarting when taken off). Preferably in a step by step guide, thanks for any help!
