what best adobe programs to (design) and (create) animated gif or image ?

Hello,

first thank you very much for helping me,

i am about creating an animated gif like the background you can see in war craft 3 frozen throne for a game,

i have to design it first with high quality so i need to know best adobe programs can do that, although i need to know the easiest, so i need to know both of them the best and the easiest so if didn't made it with the best i can made it with the easiest pro, and please put in mind that i need a program to design the image from nothing so i will draw it or design it i don't know depending on the program it self but i will not use it for editing or use an image already there, i need an elite pro that allow to create the image from nothing.

after that i need to create an animated gif for the image (gif not good for high quality images so if you know better please tell),

for example "Her hair moves with the moving wind" so i need to move it, i don't know how so i need a program to make it move too.

last thing at the end i need the file type be accepted in html(5) adobe games programs like flash builder or flash pro for example, i know flash pro can animate it but will not design it, thank you again.

Edge Animate Text Rasterization

I am building a website in Muse that is fairly straightforward but that uses some animations I have created in Edge Animate.

When I publish the website, on most browsers and in most situations, the text that I use in the animations (which are non web safe fonts that I add from TypeKit) looks fine. But in some cases, usually when the internet is slow, the text will not be the right font and appears to be the web safe version in that font family. I've been confused by this because I thought that Muse basically by default rasterized any non-safe web fonts as the file is exported (hence not being able to create hyperlinks). It seems that this is not the case when the text is part of Edge animation.

I went to try and find a way to rasterize the text in Edge Animate and I can't find a way to do so.

So my question is twofold: one, what is the mechanics of text components in Animate in how it relates to Muse, and also, am I able to rasterize text in animate so that the text components are already rasterized when I place them in Muse? I know that I could rasterize the text in another application and just import the PNG or JPEG text file into animate, but this is cumbersome and time consuming and I am hoping there is an easier solution.

Hello good people, I'm a total newbie in animating stuff, so I would be really grateful if someone is able to help me.

I need to animate these 3 pictures and place them into the panel for commercials instead of the cars currently there with same effect, position (it's oddly skewed and I can't seem to fit the images right) and delays.

Puddle and reflection effects in After Effects CS4

I am currently using After Effects CS4 (will be upgrading to CS6 in a couple of days) and I am currently trying out a test project using basic lighting animation. However, one element I want to create is a puddle of rain water on the ground. I was wondering if anybody here could advise on creating a puddle and its effects in After Effects, such as wave movements, reflection (particularly background elements) and whether I should use the basic pen tool or use some sort of diffusion maps. If I wanted to make it a little more complex, then how could I create the illusion of rain hitting the ground plane without it being mearly looking like a filter in front of the screen and have it influence the puddle?

If any of you would be able to point me out to some other tutorials on the web, I would be very grateful for that.

Hello, this is my first post here, I've searched around on a lot of old forums on this topic and most of the information relevant to it seems really outdated.

I have an animation workflow that involves utilizing a lot of nested movieclip symbols to achieve relatively complex animtions. Ideally I'd like to be able to export my finished product into .avi or .mov for further tweaking in Premiere or Final Cut, but so far I haven't been able to get these options to work the way I need them to.

Exporting to .avi gives me a simplyfied version of my animation where none of the nested symbols play through.

I've read that if you export to QuickTime it may work the way I'd like; however, I'm running Windows and apparently you need QuickTime installed a certain way for this option to work. I installed the free version of QuickTime 7 in hopes that would solve the exporting problem, but it hasn't. I still receive the error message, "QuickTime is not available. Please make sure QuickTime is properly installed". I feel like if I could get this working a lot of my problems would be solved.

Other options I know about are...

1. Using a high quality screen capture application to record the .swf playing in Adobe...

2. Finding some sort of conversion software that will convert my .swf file to an .avi or .mov.

So does anybody know how to fix the QuickTime issue? If not, any suggestions for the two types of software listed above?

.... but see, here's the thing - I already own the most powerful animation software around... why would I pay for it!? So, instead of learning all Adobe programs inside and out - to figure out what my options are... I thought I could just ask some experts!

Please help.

Two ways I can think of to do this WITH MY INCOMPLETE KNOWLEDGE:

1. I can record while drawing in Illustrator . Easy right?? BUT there would be no way to create a template of the drawings first without having it show up on the screen. My style is more "play with it till it's done" when it comes to illustration.

The other option is to use my Wacom to draw out the items, using a sheet of paper with the already drawn pic - and trace that while recording. But.... then you would run into sizing problems...

Wouldn't everything have to be exactly to scale first? or couldn't it get cumbersome... editing it may be easier than I am envisioning - but feedback appreciated

So, Step by Step - how would you do this?

How can I make a flipbook in Photoshop Elements 12? I saw a video about it on youtube but they were using Photoshop Elements 10. I can't figure out how to do it on 12.

Hey guys! My brother has a Flash cs6 and I have a old version which is a mx 2004, when we try to export our animation to avi, the quality was so bad, it was very pixelated and choppy, Not to mention the size.. We want to edit our animation but sony vegas does not support swf or flv..

So having a realllllly weird problem.

Soo - I have this christmas vector animation I'm working on.

There's a part where i'm transitioning to another part of the animation and i go to move the camera and a sub comp should be moving out of sight as the camera moves.

This subcomp includes a bunch of other layers including other sub-comps. Basically I have a bunch of shape layers that make up a christmas tree, angel, lights, wooden floor, a bunch of gifts, and text. The gifts which are all subcomped wont respond to the moving of the camera but everything else does. All the settings match and i'm kinda going insane.

To make things even weirder - If I change the composition settings to be wider by 1 pixel the whole layer disapears once the move happens.

Its so weird and out of place that I thought it was a bug and tried reseting my computer but that didn't help.

Would greatly appreciate any help.

What are the best laptop specifications for Animation?

Hello,

I am looking to buy a new laptop for animation. Unfortunately I am not a "computer person" so would be really grateful if someone could please explain in simple language what laptop specifications (and why) are best for this kind of work?

Currently I animate with After Effects, Photoshop and Flash which makes my laptop crash a lot. In the future I am also hoping to do 3D animation so I need a laptop that can handle this. I know that desktops are better but unfortunately I need a laptop... any help will be greatly appreciated.

Smart Object won't keep transform settings

I'm working on an animation which starts with a 3D animated globe, and then a 2D map pops out of the globe. I have the map set as a smart object, transform keyframes on, with the end point in place. Go to the beginning point, distort the image until it matches the projection on the globe and set another key point. It seems to work until I go to the next frame at which time the distort setting appears to change to something completely different that I never set. IfI step back to the beginning keyframe the my settings are gone. If I go back to the step in history where I set the distort it will go back to where I had set it--- until the next frame. There also seem to be nonexistant style effects. I have tried copying the layer, deleting the keyframes and starting fresh, moving the whole animation to a new document, nothing seems to make a difference. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

This is what it does when I step to the next frame. After which point the previous keyframe also appears this way.

How can I shift a text box over with keyframes while keeping the keyframes the same?

Hi, I am using Premeire Pro and After effects to produce videos of products for a company. The products are cases for phones and tablets. I need to be able to freeze on a shot of the product and then draw on the still image to show the size of the case for example, possible in a blueprint style. Is there any way I could have an animation that would be like a 'live' drawing on the still image? Also I need to be able to on one case show that both sides of the cover are the same size so I wanted to do an animation of the left side being mirrored on the right side.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Text or Image- is text a processing burden for AS3?

I am making a Scrabble type of game in foreign language so is it a big processing burden using Flash Action Script 3 to display text constantly on about 7 to 100 actors plus a score board?

I have the tiles actors as images but they aren't very nice.

Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum. I'd like to know if what I'm proposing has been done before, and if so what some of the examples look like.

My idea is to embed clickable hotspots over a video. For example, we have a shot of a truck rolling down the highway. As it continues driving, different hotspots pop up over various parts of the truck, like axles, transmission, engines, etc. These hotspots can then be clickable, and a small tooltip/bubble pops up with a description about that part. As the video continues playing, different hotspots continue to be generated and available.

I've been poking around all over the web looking for either examples or programs that enable the effect. I've found that most "interactive videos" are based around two premises: shopping from within the video and pick your own storyline. Neither of which is necessarily what I'm looking for, so I've begun thinking that this might an After Effects/Flash based affair. I can use After Effects to generate the tooltips or 3D overlays of the various parts onto the original video, and use Flash to generate the approriate interaction.

As this video will be web based, my final idea was to run the video underneath a layer of code that generated both the sprites and the effects. The problem there is setting up the scripts so that they are timed perfectly with the video.

Any thoughts? If this isn't the place for this, could someone point out where I can get some insight? Much appreciated in advance!

Synchronizing a Flash animation with Captivate

Does anyone know how to connect, or synchronize, an animation to a Captivate CS5 timeline such that each frame of the animation is tied to a respective frame on the Cp slide? In other words, I want frame 1 of my animation to start on frame 1 of my Cp slide (which it currently doesn't, regardless of where I put it on the Cp timeline), and I would lilke the animation to pause and play according to what the Cp slide is doing.

Here's what I did:

I made a slideshow animation in Flash CS5 that I put in a Cp slide on top of audio. The animation lasts 35.5 seconds, same as the Cp slide.

I put the animation at the beginning of the timeline, told it to play for the 'rest of slide', and checked 'Sychronize with Project' (which does nothing as far as I can tell).

I put a stop (); command at the end of the animation so it doesn't repeat (and that's literally the only code I have in there at this point).

The animation and the Cp project are both at 30 frames per second.

Here's what happens when previewing (F4ing) the project:

When the project gets to that slide, the framework of the slide (audio/click boxes/buttons/etc) runs fine, but when the slide starts, it starts in the middle of the animation. I.e., when the slide starts, frame 1 of the Cp slide plays while frame (say...) 75 of the animation plays.

The animation starts at a different place every time.

Also, when I pause the slide, the animation keeps playing, which makes the problem worse. I would like the animation to pause when the Cp slide is paused.

I know that animations generally act a certain way, but I would like to know if there is a way to change its behavior so that everything works together. Best-case scenario, there is an option somewhere that I'm overlooking, and worst-case, I would imagine that there is some way to write some actionscript into the Flash animation that tells frame 1 to always be attached to Cp's frame 1, and frame 2 to always to attached to Cp's frame 2, etc, with every frame. I'm new with Actionscript, so I don't know how to do that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I make vectors in animation sharp in After Effects?

Hi guys, I am having trouble rendering vectors I have imported from Illustrator to After Effects. I have imported the vector art work from an illustrator file onto the after effects file, but when I place them on the after effects file they turn out really pixelated? I thought it was because I did not check the 'continuously render' icon but it did not make any difference.

When I rendered the whole animation, I still had the same problem where the vectors I had imported look really poor quality and the whole animation itself is of really poor quality. Animation Tail Help

So I'm trying to make a smooth tail animation and I'm not having much luck. is there anyway to make it move fluidly without the labor of frame-by-frame? I'm using AS2, so so shape tweens or bone tool

Here's a demo of it, it's supper rough, all of the 'buttons' are just for testing (changing from day to night etc.) the tan button controls a crude talk animation and all the red buttons are different expressions. for the tail I did a simple classic tween, but it looks really stiff, if you hit the last purple round button at the bottom she will transition to angry and her tail will twitch, this was my bad attempt at frame-by-frame (one with no delay followed by the same animation with 5 frames between each key frame)

Any help would be awesome, or any other feed back about stuff looking bad is great too (this is my first time animating)

How to add animations to electronic schematics?

Hello all,
I am an aviation maintainer and are trying to make my job easier and need to add animation to electronic schematics.
What I need is a very interactive animations that show current flow, bulbs turning on, switches tripping, etc. I also need to be able to control the sequence when these animations happen, for instance: been able to choose from multiple switches, what switch will trip next, maybe have the switch as an object that activates an animation when clicked on, for instance a switch: when clicked on it moves the contacts to the ON position and allows current flow, when click on again it moves the contacts to the OFF position and prevents current flow.The most important thing is that I should be able to decide what I want to animate, I am not looking for linear animation where you have to follow a strict sequence and can't deviate. there is a lot of components I have to work with and they turn on and off depending on the situation and that is why it need to be flexible.

The schematic below is very simple, I will be working with much more complex ones so it would be helpful if the animations where easy to update or change so that if I make a mistake on the beginning or if there is a small change to the schematic I don't have to redo everything

To make it easier to visualize here is a sequence of what I would like to it to look like.

1- No power on.

2- Power is activated by clicking 28 VDC BUS A bar (top Left)

3- Avionics power switch (5025X) activates by clicking it.

4- Current flowing to next component.

5- Click avionics power switch (5025X) again and power is cut off.

the simpler the program the better, however I am willing to learn how to use any programs (Lynda.com is Great for that), I have some programing knowledge too.

the manual I work with is in PDF format so keep that in mind. I guess I can change the format to some picture format but the manual is over 5000 pages long so that's a lot of pictures! file size might be a lot, but if that is the only way or the best/easiest that's OK.

I know that you can make some videos using images but they are not interactive enough.

Sticky Footer Animation

I made a blank website template(html5) in Dreamweaver CS6 to start with, following this smooth scroll tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohhPyKLMC94, which then I added a sticky footer- "BACK TO TOP". This was fine.

Then I wanted to add a bouncing animation on the footer in Edge Animate. Firstly, the footer stuck to the top; but the animation worked.

Secondly, I went to "Title_edgePreload.js" and changed all the positions in the .js from absolute to fixed, which was what I did in dreamweaver with the other links. This made the footer stick to the very bottom of the page, and did not stick to the screen but the animation worked.

If I cut out the part which is between  and ,

It works without the animation.

Any ideas how I can make it sticky, or is there another way to animate it?

Help! Ideas for displaying ~100-300 still images with After Effects / Premiere Pro

Hi, I am a cadet at a US Air Force detachment and am responsible for making this semester's end of the year video.

I have the Adobe creative cloud and am familiar with the basics of Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, and I am trying to also learn After Effects. I have a large amount of picture and video, and am at a loss for how to quickly make all these pictures into an interesting slideshow. Software such as Cyberlink Powerdirector had a "photo grid" which would allow me to create an automatic slideshow of images on a 3x3 grid, where each image flashed into place one at a time. I am looking for automated processes or tutorials to feed my images into and have a modern effect of displaying the images.

If anyone has any idea for a template or where to start on handling a large amount of still images in After Effects or Premiere Pro, I could definitely use a point in the right direction!

Embedding SWF file into an Indesign document and later export as PDF

Hi to everybody,

I am searching now since 3 days for good solution of my problem. First I wanna tell you that the problem is not just to convert a swf-file into a pdf. I did this many times with all animations, page flip and stuff.My situation is the following:

I have varios catalogues with more or less 12 pages each in an indesign format. Now I created an animated scroll down menu, which appears on an "index-page". On the menu I created buttons. One button for each catalogue. So the idea of the whole thing is to open a document and an index page appears where you have the animated menu and you choose the catalogue you wanna see. Until here it is quite easy. I created a swf file of each catalogue with my animations (as the special page turnover e.g.). So that I just need von Object in with I can load the different swf-files of these catalogues. I already did the process. I linked the buttons to the different swf files and so. So the problem is now when it comes to convert the whole thing into a PDF. Of course I convert it first to swf and then to PDF. After converting it to swf it works 100% fine, but in PDF not, suddenly the swf-files of the catalogues disappear.

So the summary is, that I don't know how to embed swf files into an indesign document, creat buttons and interactions next to swf file, then save it to another swf, and then to a pdf without losing the first swf files within the pdf.

Hope I made my self clear would be too nice if someone could help me or if someone may have a better idea of realizing the whole project.

How do I get a needle to rotate according to a percentage value in an xml ?

Hi guys, I have built a dial in flash as shown below.

My needle is a movie clip. I need the needle to rotate and point to a value on the dial according to a percentage that I will enter into an xml.. I have managed to get the xml communicating with flash as it currently displays the value i enter in the xml where the red circle is located.

Currently the numbers around the dial are just text boxes i dont know if I would need to change them for this to work but if so thats fine.

Can anyone advise as to what I need to do and what code I should use in the xml?

How do I create a battery power percentage animation, thats output is dependant on excel data?

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to create an animation with the output result dependant on excel data (or another form of data if not possible in excel).

E.g I would like to make a battery animation that shows the percentage of power, but I want the animation to change if the data is changed (say from 30% to 60%) .

Hi. I still use CS3 (sorry!) and just bought a new machine running Lion. (Note: It's a MacBookAir and both PS and LR scream on it!)

I transferred CS3 over using Migration Assistant. Seems to work fine, except the separate words in the Text Tool get run together, i.e. it does not support spaces between words. Could this just be a "Preferences" item somewhere? Seems similar to the ol' HTML issue, except HTML even allows you for one space between words. On PS, I get none.

So, I've got a 3 minute info animation to put together, using type and and basic graphics. Final output needs to be played on an intranet system. Client has mentioned WMV or Mpeg4.

I love Edge Animate, and am less familiar with Flash.......

So my question is, Flash or Edge Animate?

Is there an adobe IDE which can animate svg assets?

Adobe Edge does not work for me as it can handle (load/render) but not animate their properties to make them dynamic?

Hello,

I hope someone can help me with this one!

I have an HTML page developed in dreamweaver, and I need to embed a simple slider of images in it (all images in the same position rotating with a kenburns effect).

I have created the animation in Edge Animate, fine, it works smoothly on the browser preview.

Now, how do I embed it in my dreamweaver html page?

I've tried everything I found on adobe communities: that is copying and pasting the code I can retrieve from the browser preview (both edge script between the  tags, AND div, in the correct position)

No matter what, the slider won't run, it is stuck on one frame.

I tried 4 different browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Explorer, all updated to the las version. Same result on all.

I also tried to open the HTML file in Edge and create the animation from scratch in there, importing the pictures I need onto the stage.

In this case, the animation appears in another position online on the X axis.

Any idea

Embedded swf acts differently when published

Attempting to embed a flash file into a Captivate 6 project. The swf file runs for about 19 seconds. However, when I "Import > Animation" into a captivate frame, and then publish it, the swf file completes its sequence in about 7 seconds instead of 19. Any idea why this is happening? By the way, it seems to work properly when I preview the frame in the timeline. Seems the publishing routine is the culprit here? Thx

Hi All,

I am a learner to the captivate.

I am having problem with animation-audio synching with captivate paly head. When I inserted an animation to the slid, It does not synch with the play head. So I lose the control of pause, next. I tried out synch to project option but it didn’t work out.

Can anybody help me in this. Should I write any script in animation or any widget is there…

I am using flash6 and captivate 5.5.

Drawing MS Paint style lines in Flash Pro 8

Im trying to make a Simple animation with a similar style to picture story thing I read called "Homestuck". The artist makes his characters look like they were drawn in MS Paint. Is it possible to do that same thing in Flash 8? I draw best in Flash 8, and I dislike using Paint due to lack of Transparencies.

Hologram Effect for Video.

I'm currently creating graphics in Photoshop for a video project my shop is working on. The graphic is a industrial looking text-box and for the video we'd like it to look like a projected hologram, with the faint projection path and all. My question is which program would be best to use to create a believable representation of a projected hologram? And does anyone know any good tutorials/tips on how to create the graphic? I work in AVID, I'm not sure if that would affect the graphic or not. Thank you.

Edge Animation stutter

I have an edge animation placed into a muse created site. The animation previews smoothly in the browser. However, when published the animation has a slight stutter and/or hiccup. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? I tried speeding up and slowing down the animation, but this does not fix. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

The movie will exclusively be based on texts with some effects, and a voice.

iMovie was almost enough, but I want a tiny bit more freedom. (e.g. move text boxes around , and I'm not that happy with the effects on iMovie)

I have some basic knowledge on Flash, and I have access to Premiere and After effects.

Hello,

Please forgive me for not knowing the technical terms for what I aspire to do. I have worked with video for many years (started with Premiere 4.5) but never 3D objects other than titles.

I want to be able to draw 3d models of objects and people (in the round so that they will look correct at any camera angle), position the models and cameras starting points, move the camera angle during the video, and animate the 3D characters themselves (make them walk, bend, smile). I think I saw something about a lip sync tool as well.

I want to be able to combine 3d models with real video as well. I assume I would render the 3d scene on an alpha channel or green screen and then pop in the video background using Premiere but not sure.

For final outputs I will need to upload to youtube and create widescreen DVDs.

Please let me know which Adobe apps are best for the...

1. 3D model creation

2. scene creation, animation and rendering

3. combining real world video with the 3D characters and objects and outputting to the formats mentioned above

4. Anything I missed?

Creating synchronised text to music

What I want to do is quite simple to explain but possibly tricky to execute. I want to create synchronised text to match music exactly like you’d see on a karaoke video or a game like Singstar. eg

I have data files that contain the text / timecode information and I understand that Adobe After Effects can import things like XML . Assuming that I can parse the data so that it fits the Adobe format, does it sound like this might be feasible? In addition, if this is possible what’s the format / standard for this sort of process?

From my limited understanding, Adobe After Effects is the tool most likely do the job but if there is a better one in the Adobe suite or elsewhere (Final Cut?), I’d be interested in knowing this.

I have tried to contact the creator of these letters to no avail. As best as I can tell they have not been involved with the project for a long time so it may be a moot point.

Given that, I would really like it if someone can give me some pointers of other very similar projects or guidance on where to start.

i am making a gif from video, i need to use the cool effect 80%, ctrl shift B , but how do i do it to more that one layer at a time. now i have to select the animation cell and the layer then ctrl+shift+B and do that 150 times. I know there is a way to apply to every layer i just cant find it. When i select all layers it doesnt do anything. Please help and thanks in advance

File handling-Converting premiere pro 5.0 project to a high end flash movie without waiting 5 hrs.

So I was waiting like a week to process( render) a file to a decent 1080hd flash vid. With all the new codecs in media encoder I found a work around to get the job done before I retire.

Open a new comp in after effects 5.0. import the PPR file directly into AE, as a SEQUENCE only with audio, drag and drop the ppr comp onto the stage. Go to make a movie. Set-up the render engine to render in what ever you want this case it's a flv file. set the output size, to where you want the flash file to go to. and sonnaofagunn...it'll take a file and toss it out in like 2--30min.NOT DAYS!!!! This was for a file I was having to do like 1,000 times in media encoder, and it would never match the size of the original file...I aint mr. wizard.

but this made me feel like him!!!!!!
