Flash SWF to Modify Presenter Player

I would like to remove the navigation controls and at times the scrubber bar in Presenter. I found this:http://www.connectusers.com/forums/cucbb/viewtopic.php?id=1614

I tried using the Flash code that was suggested:

Go into Flash and create a small stage size, like 18 x 18 pixels. Don't worry about creating any artwork, because you won't be using any!

Instead, on the very first frame of Layer 1 (which you'll see in the timeline), click that empty keyframe and hit F9 (or Windows -> Actions).

When the Action panel appears, add the following line of code:

Save your FLA (name it whatever you want) and create a swf file out of it by either publishing your flash file (File -> Publish) or hitting Control / Enter on your keyboard.

Then, back in PowerPoint, using Presenter's Insert Flash option, place the swf on the first slide of your PPT deck. If you save and publish the PPT file, the playback bar, along with the scrubber button ojbect, will be completely eliminated!

However, I cannot get it to work. I have tried publishing to Adobe Flash 8 & 9, and ActionScript 2 and 3. I am using the most recent update to Presenter that support AS3.

Is this indeed a method that works? I cannot get it to give the desired results. There was also a suggestion to modify the vconfig.xml file, which I have not tried yet - as I would prefer something a little more dynamic and controllable - like this.

I am creating a component. That will be a dialog with multi field. There will a text box and one rich text editor.Befoe adding rich text editor in the dialog, Ok button is working but as soon as I am adding rich text editor in dialog multifield, Ok button does not work. I tried a lot to find out solution but no success.

Multiple Audio Files on a screen.

I have a few instances where I have recorded Audio for a slide and then rerecorded it for one reason or another. During playback, both tracks are playing. Only one shows in my timeline however and I can't figure out how to delete the original one I want gone. How can I locate this file and eliminate it?

Resources for eLearning - outdated but useful?

I am finding that any resources for creating eLearning using Dreamweaver to be outdated. Dreamweaver CS6 Classroom in A Book doesn't cover elearning, and a search on Adobe Press returns books from 2006 relating to DW 3 or old Macromedia products. Searching for "elearning" or "coursebuilder" return no results!

Playing with the Coursebuilder templates in Elearning CS6 it seems that the material and design is quite dated. Has it even been updated since 2006? Would buying old books still be worth it?

I'm kind of disappointed with how behind the times some of the software appears. Why is it that after all these years, I can't even resize the File > Open dialog box?

So if anyone has useful resources for using ELearning Suite, please let me know.

Otherwise, I would recommend people switch to a different product. I probably can't name it here in the forum but message me if you are interested (no, this isn't spam, just trying not to break the rules).

eLearning Suite won't load

I have a licensed copy of the eLearning Suite. The computer won't load it from the disk or from the Adobe website. When I've tried it either never downloads or one time it asked for the serial number then wouldn't recognize it.

Thought I'd ask this here as more likely to get someone familiar with the concept...moreso I think that in the Acrobat forum (though fairly, I've not even looked there yet).

Anyone have insights on how to make a PDF form SCORM-compliant? There's no 'tool' for doing that? I'm astounded...though of course, just recently astounded, though I should have been at least a year ago, I think.

IF no pre-defined way, then a PDF can contain JS, right? And can call to the parent page, right? So we should be able to make a SCORM-compliant PDF, in theory....?

Was just amazed this hasn't come up before, though admittedly I'm basing that on what I've not-read here and what I've not-found in a half-hour websearch.

I'm thinking of getting a student suite for him (if he ponies up half), showing him the ropes and giving him some project suggestions. Why do things look better in PDF before converting to JPEG/PNG/TIFF

It always puzzles my why it looks better in a pdf preview and then when I choose to convert it off Indesign or Adobe Acrobat it immediately loses quality/hues turn grey.

I've had more succes screenshotting some things and turning them manually and pasting them into a fireworks document and then saving as an image format.

Is there a better way to convert without using this method? Any plugins perhaps or explanations on how to stop this?

Different software needed for elearning

I am just completing an associates in Web Design and Interactive Media so I am still very new to all this. I am trying to learning everything I can get my hands on. I am hoping for a little guidance on what software is best for my longterm goal. What I plan to do is create a site that is elearning and would not only keep track of the scores of the student, but to determine which lessons to send the student to next depending on the score they received. I want to be able to customize the look so it isn't the same as everyone else that uses the same software. I also want things to be random. For example, different questions each time instead of each student receiving the same questions on each quiz. Different subjects can be chosen at different times by the student as well and the classes are done completely at their own pace. A timer would also be included for a "recess" from the lessons.

I initially planned on just using flash but I am not sure about it keeping track of the scores and adjusting the lessons accordingly and also would prefer for the site to be able to be accessed for ipads etc that don't have flash. Ideas? Thanks.

Hi All,

I have a Creative Cloud subscription, and installed most of the Master Collection. I already had Captivate 6 as standalone installed as well. Now I added the trial of the eLearning Suite 6. Every added component works fine (Presenter 8, SCORM packager) but I cannot have the roundtripping functionalities between Captivate-Photoshop, Captivate-Audition to work. I have 'Record Application with Adobe Captivate' in Flash CS6, didn't look for the extra Question templates in Flash yet. I'm not sure that the extensions for Dreamweaver/Flash are still available in this version of the suite, cannot find any documentation on that . But what I really do miss is the forementioned roundtripping. So please, can someone explain which work flow has to be used to make them available?

I'm using eLearning Suite Ver 6.0.1.240. My slide masters cover an area of 800px X 620px, with three horizontal 'overlays' to create header and footer areas. On publishing, the first slide looks perfect (see attachment), but all subsequent slides show a thin (approx. 10px) vertical line on the right edge of my slide area, that extends to the limits of the browser window.

Day 12 of my attemts to upgrade to 6.1

Installer thinks Acrobat Pro XI is a trial version.

So far it's only been round and round with support.

Is there a way to really have someone address my problem as opposed to helping Adobe solve theirs? I get that support wants to figure out what is going on. but after 9 hours working with them, and no progress, can't I get my problem fixed? The fix seems simple, my subscription will not validate the Acrobat Pro XI module, and my subscription serial number is invalid for the module, of course it is,, during the installation process, the message I get, is that Pro XI will be installed on a trial basis.

Working with either technicial and customer support is only an exercise in frustration (I'm a 20 plus year technicial support professional). Is there no one out there that can help?

Fatal error message with powerpoint projects

Hi I get an Fatal error message when I create a new project from MS PowerPoint in the startup menu. I have Captivate 6.1.240 and Windows 7 64 bit with SP1.

I have tried on different user accounts and a collegue gets the same messages

Also when I try to import the powerpoint from a blank project I get a blank slides with the right slide names underneath

I'm recieving a nondescript error message while attemptin to publish to an Adobe Connect server. "Request Not Processed: The system was unable to process your request."

Anyone have any ideas. I've tried everything I can think of doing. Uploading natively and through a web browser, on PC and OSX, every browser available on the two machines.

cq: style is not working in text editor

Hi All,

I am new to Day CQ.

I trying to use style in text editor. I follwed aal the steps.

1. I am able to see style drop down in text editor.

2. I added css class.

3. kept style in defined location in /etc

But when I am applying css on any line of text in text editor,

css is not effective for that line.

I crossed check my css file location.

I did'nt get any problem

Please hint me , what step can be mistaken.

Hyperlinks (Adobe Presenter 7.0.6)

I have two hyperlinks in PPT. One points to a word doc and other to a ppt or pptx.

While the doc link works as expected the other hyperlink doesnt even show hand symbol.

On clicking the second last link in the outline, the quiz section doesnt load. It only functions on Clicking the arrow button provided in the Navigation Bar below.

I am keen to upgrade to a suite, and the elearning suite is exactly what I need - though not the 5.5 version. I have CS4 Design Suite now and also Captivate v 5.

Anyone else know when this is likely to get the upgrade? Hey - I would buy it now if I knew it would upgrade for free when they get all the components upgraded.

Although I was able to leave half of my feedback before the webinar was shut down, I felt like I should be able to finish my feedback to Adobe. I couldn't find anywhere to contact Adobe in regards to their online provided webinars so I came here.

As an eLearning and Instructional designer, I attended this webinar to help gain new tools and tricks to use within my own training. And, although the instructor provided a few links for online content for purchase, I didn't learn anything new. The instructor spent a lot of time covering eLearning/ID basics: engage your learner, use graphics, add in knowledge checks, etc. It would have been nice if she had followed her own lesson plan. This webinar consisted of a very dry and boring PowerPoint slide deck with NO learner engagement, pixilated blown out graphics, and no knowledge checks. I was extremely bored the entire time - and I wasn't the only one. Right before the webinar shut down, during the feedback, another participant agreed with my comments about it being a boring webinar that needed: learner engagement, knowledge checks, and someone who knows how graphics work, how to place them, and how to find new graphics if they ones they have are just too small to use successfully.

As an Adobe hosted webinar I was expecting much better. As an example of Adobe's content, knowledge, programs, and capabilities and if fell short.

Does anyone know if Adobe will be coming to Edinburgh with a CS6 seminar?

I have spent all morning trying to email/speak to someone at adobe rearding this and got absolutely pushed from pilar to post and eventually got to speak to an Indian call centre who:

A. Could not understand me

B. took ages confirming I indeed had an Adobe account

C. HUNG UP ON ME! when I asked the question – Will Adobe be coming to Edinburgh to do a CS6 seminar?

Does anyone Know Why I can't watch Adobe TV? pages load as 500 internal server error

I've tried everything I can think of; maybe the servers are down but I don't see a notice that the servers are down. I can't access Adobe TV. Every video I try says "500: internal server error" I am using the latest version of FireFox on a Mac, using Lion.

How to check memory usage of a debug

I am very new, sorry for any newbishness on my part.

Is there a way to track how much memory your debug is using? I am trying to make a game, and I have 2 ways of doing something.

One with an array of square objects doing hitTest, and one only 1 object and an array of cords doing a nested if{}.

I want to see what each of these are doing in terms of memory usage during runtime and which one would be better.

Specificly not just which one of these is better, but also as different things are applied, I want to test how each of these things responds and which one would slow down a computer less. And later on as things progress I want a way to test it.

How to get Vault plugin to report failure when the targetURL connection fails?

We're seeing a situation with the Vault plugin where when the call to the "targetURL" results in a server error, it reports that in the build output, but the plugin doesn't report a failure, so it looks like the build was successful. If you're not paying attention, you'll miss the Vault plugin failure. It doesn't matter why the call to the targetURL fails, it's just a symptom on the server. What's the issue here is that when that fails, the plugin should also fail, but it doesn't.

What are the best settings to export video for Blip.tv?

I have CS5.5 and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Thing is, I had Premiere Elements 8 and 10, which both had no issues with making and uploading MPGs, but Pro's settings are... well, I'd call them "messed up". Part of the issue might be that Elements and Pro ands unforgiveably disimilar in too many aspects (I'd argue 8 was functionally better than 10). Why are settings seemingly unavailable, or completely different? I wasted an entire day, rendering the same video in different formats, because Pro didn;t have the same available settings as I could with Elements 10.

Regardless of my complaints. The question is still this: What settings should I use for esporting videos to Blip.tv? (the answer never really gets answered over there).

[CQ newbie] Possible to load and compile all CQ pages in continuous integration?

I know very little about CQ.

I'm trying to figure out how we can implement a continuous integration process which would deploy our build to a test server and automatically compile all of the generated pages, and send reports to "last change" authors if there are failures.

If this was a plain JSP-based application, I know how to do this, because WebLogic gives me the ability to compile all JSPs at deployment time.

With CQ, I've been told that JSP pages are assembled with the Vault plugin and stored in the repository. I've seen sample code that can load pages from the repository, but can I use that mechanism to iterate through all the pages in the repository and force them to be loaded, and also get detailed errors if they fail to compile or load?

When will CQ support Maven 3?

I'm only peripherally involved with using CQ, but I'm very involved with using Maven. I was stunned when I heard today that our modern CQ5 installation only supports Maven 2.2.1, which I last used in the middle of the previous decade. I ended up successfully completing a build of our CQ-using application using Maven 3.0.4, but I've been told that there are issues with some CQ Maven plugins with Maven 3.

Is anyone aware of any specific problems I should expect to have if I continue to use Maven 3?

Is an upgrade to Maven 3 on the near term roadmap?

Problem with "Export to Release build" option in flash builder

This is the error i am getting when i using the "Export to Release Build in Adobe flash builder".

TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

This doesnt happen when i using normal debug version of the build. But the problem is debug version is taking lot of time to be downloaded on the browser.

Adobe Pro: Field settings (version 9 and higher)

I am building a fillable form using Adobe Pro 9 (and higher). Within 1 question, I want to set 3 fields, each representing an answer that can only be answered once.

I know about Radio Buttons but, I need to have some text written instead of a checkbox.

How to set a limit onto a field to direct person filling in the form to answer only 1 of the 3 fields within the same question?

Please advise.

I have created my own learning intranet at work using dotnetnuk free download and post my own DVD's and slides using a mac and purchasing questionnaire modules. This to the eye looks fine but due to not having an LMS the data collection is a long process.

I am really interested in Adobe e-learning suite as it looks like the step up I want to take in quality and interaction. The software talks about a scorm lms. Is this a part of the software (i.e. is this a full lms content package) or do I have to buy further software?

If so can anyone recommend some which is user friendly and will do the job for 350 staff
