      <title>CRM Activity Report</title>

There is a list of the Activity in the Activity tab under each contact but I am unable to run a report with the information. I realize that there is no set Custom form with Activity (they forgot to ask sales and marketing what they really need on these report). &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The only alternative I know is to download the entire database which should include the Activity -- but I don't see a way to do that.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;WHY would they not include this report as standard? It is much more valuable to a sales and marketing team than some of the other goofy reports.&amp;nbsp; We want our sales staff to reach out to be able to rate and score each contact based on their level of activity and then have sales follow-up. For example if someone opened an email campaign 10 times in two days and click the same link 4 times, they would make an excellent prospect to follow-up with a phone call. He wants each member to use their email as their ID but be able to set their own unique password rather than everyone sharing a single password. Can this be done in BC? We are also using Business Catalyst to build the CRM customer database. We are using this as an alternative to MySQL since there is no direct connection between MySQL and MUSE. The only work around we know is to export the MUSE website to HTML. Import that HTML into Adobe DREAMWEAVER and the build the connections that way. When I create a web form with these extended fields and embed it on my website, the input is submited but is recorded for a Company data entry, but all my custom field inputs just get lost. Now, if I do the same thing with a "Customer" data entry (extend my CRM, create web form, embed it, and test), the inputs for the custom fields I have added are recorded to that entry. Why doesn't this work the same way for Companies? Is there something I can do to fix this problem?       <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:723cb12d-50b3-409d-8289-777d20592e13] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Hi, &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am relatively new to BC and have been trying to get my head around the CRM feature, in particular the use of customer vs company or customer and company.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have looked through a number of resources online and can see how these records are created, relationships created etc, however, am still not clear on the best approach.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Often you will deal with a person (customer) who may be an owner of one or more companies.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When recording tasks, opportunities etc sometimes these may relate specifically to the customer whereas on other occasions it may be more appropriate to be recorded under the company (this may become important if the business were sold and you continue to work with the new owner - if all records for the company were linked to the previous owner the history would be lost)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have a number of other areas where I am not clear exactly clear how all records are neatly tied together e.g multiple contacts from one company etc.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As mentioned I have looked at a number of tutorials online but nothing I have found covers the link between customer/company records particularly well (apart from that a relationship can be created - which I have done on a test).       <title>Identical email address limitation - anybody found a workaround?</title>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:06183179-52ba-4585-a901-d728218d910f] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;BC support have stated that the system cannot currently allow identical email addresses for multiple customers even if you choose to use a unique YOUR ID. &lt;strong&gt;No identical email addresses can be used across multiple records, end of story.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am aware that "senior" BC parters have raised this issue before and I'm pleased it's being considered at that level, however that doesn't help me now.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We are developing a website for a tennis club and the idea is for the system to help with purchasing and renewal of memberships. However, we've hit a major snag, many people who belong to a club use the same email address; couples, families etc and because BC won't allow identical email address we don't know how to handle this issue. BTW, we're not talking about one or two instances here, many, many people use the same email address.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here are a few examples of where we hit the wall:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Scenario 1A&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A couple (that use a single email address) decide to purchase membership online at the same time, they enter 2 x adult memberships. When they get to the check out, because if the limitation we can only, register an email address against one of their names, so what should be a simple case of collecting details for both members so we can hold them as separate records, becomes a headache as we now need to come up with some type of "couples" option in the system where a couple will buy 2x adult memberships as one product with a "main member" and some kind of "attached member". This presets a number of issues especially when running reports, It all becomes unnecessarily complex and adds unnecessary overheads.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Scenario 1B&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The same as 1A except that it's a family, so 2 adults and 3 kids for example. We could use the "main" and "attached" solution, but that means we don't get individual records for the 2nd Adult and none for the kids. This is a bit easier as the FAMILY category exists already, whereas the club doesn't have (or necessarily want) a COUPLES category.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Scenario 2&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One partner in couple (that use a single email address) buys membership today&amp;hellip; no issue here as this is processed as single adult. 6 months later however the other partner decides they also want to join&amp;hellip; they get to the checkout and enter their (joint) email address and the BC system either produces an error message saying "the email address is already being used in the system, please use another one" or it will overwrite the existing record (I'm not actually sure what the BC system will do).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Has anybody come up against the same issue and found an acceptable workaround?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Tim&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:06183179-52ba-4585-a901-d728218d910f] --&gt;</description>

They can only use the default template. e.g is the Customer Cases Layout - detail layout. Typically this layout would be in a secure zone which more than likely would require a different wrapping template to be applied. Could still process the deilvery based on the original emails generated.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In second instance, on 4th Oct 2013, an order was placed, payment emails and workflow notifications were received but no order was set up. This will not tie into the Lead Source in the CRM by default.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What you can do is make your own Custom CRM field Lead source and under CRM Forms tab of the web form, choose that to add to the form. Business Catalyst support advised that they can't include this field in any report (don't get me started on that...) and I am now desperately in need of some way to get that data which is on the file and is critical to any further updates via the import files. I would delete all the records and start again except that there is no bulk delete option in BC CRM - yes you can do it in products but not CRM or Web Apps...!!! The only option available in BC is to delete one screen list at a time but then I have the issue that this matter does not relate to all CRM records - only those whio are members of a secure zone.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;My need is urgent so any assistance free or otherwise would be approeciated and the solution needs to be one that enables me to run such an export on an irregular basis.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:436237bf-825c-4e97-8d03-329d889eee6c] --&gt;</description>

      <title>Custom CRM form field not updating/showing</title>

I've created a user details form, by inserting one onto a page and then taking that form's markup, as there doesn't seem to be a proper way to insert these forms. In any case, everything appears to be working correctly for everything else except one form field, which is a new one I just created.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I've attached the html for this below.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Is there something I'm missing? I've added some data in on the CRM and it still doesn't show anything.       <title>Import Contact (advanced) password update</title>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:2aa1a3ca-67e5-4667-822d-bf007b39fcdd] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Since BC has stopped delivering passwords through custom reports - how do I use Import Contact (Advanced) to upload data to various fields if I cannot download the paswords to a CSV type file in the first place.&amp;nbsp; BC Help for Importing Data states that the password field is one that is updated using this method.&amp;nbsp; ie each time I use the Import template I delete all the passwords - this sounds a little non-sensical to me.
