Premiere Elements 9 crashes when trying to create new project?

I dont seem to be able to get this application to work..... it was fine a few months ago, but when I went to create a new project it continually crashes out when you try and open an existing or new project file.

can anyone suggest a possible rememdy please?\

Why is my video exporting media from off screen?

In other words, why is my project exporting like this when I share it, when it does not look like this in premiere? The logo is supposed to be on top of the video.The picture I used is also messed up. I put a black box around the edges to keep the letterbox but since I zoom in on the picture, part of the picture should be off screen.

Why won't Premiere run?

Hi, I have used Premiere Elements in the past on my computer with no issues,

but it's been about 18 months since I last tried to do anything with it.

Recently my kids upgraded their iPhones and I was suspicious that they might

have loaded something that it didn't like.

So I have now loaded and reloaded it several times, but it still only shows the

slash screen and then stops. So to recap what I've done:

1) the software ran fine on the PC in the past. The PC is a quad core i5 with

10gig of memory with a 1 terabyte compressed hard drive with 1.42 terabytes of free space.

I've run defrag etc and utilities have been used to free up space and temporary files.

2)I have deinstalled the software and reinstalled it several times. First time

I did not select the deactivate feature. After that I have. Last time I tried without

key just to see if it would at least load (demo mode).

3) I have removed all non-original non-system fonts to make sure there wasn't a

rogue font issue.

4) I have gone into the registry and deactivated video codecs hoping that one of them

might be the issue.

5) Elements loads and appears to be working just fine. As does the Organizer.

6) while my regular windows account does have admin privileges, I have created the

super user admin account activated only from the command line to ensure that there

are no access rights issue. All activity is now down from that account.

When trying to load Premier Elements (by running directly from the installation

folder, not through the organizer interface), it just hangs on the splash screen.

Looking at the Windows event log, it appears that it is getting an "AppHangB2" error,

in in the hex dump of the tool, the only hex that I can find translates to "unknown"

with no further information reported.

(as a side note, I did make sure I loaded the latest version of Quicktime, first time it

wouldn't run as it was looking for something called "application manager" which a reinstallation

fixed, and I don't have the NVIDIA card (mine is an AMD))

I am trying to use my tablet and pen with Premiere Elements and find that I can only do a very limited amount. I can select files for importing and can drag them onto the timeline. I can also expand the audio and video channels on the timeline and can zoom in and out on the timeline. The only other thing I can do is select items on the menu bar. Otherwise I cannot use my pen as a mouse at all. Are there compatability issues with Wacom devices and this program?

Problems to reinstall Premiere Elements 12 - bought Premiere Elements 13 and also have problems with the installation , see log. Hope you can help? KEJ1131

1. What's the best output selection to put a video on a DVD to playback on my HDTV through my DVD player?

2. Do I select 1080i or 1080p?

3. What size should I make my still pictures that will be included?

4. I plan to purchase an UHDTV. How does that work in with Premiere 12? Should I pre-plan my editing to make my stills for UHD even though I'll be also using it on standard HDTV?

Numbering Image Files

I number 250 files so that the order goes 1,2,3,4. ....20 250. However, when I Add Media, Premiere 12 places them in the order where the highest digit number has priority. So that the order is 1, 10, 101,..., 11, 110...etc then the 2's like 2, 20 200,201 etc. This makes it impossible to add the pictures to the Timeline that is in the same order that I need them to be. How can I resolve this? thanks

My Premiere Pro stopped conforming files any idea how to turn this feature back on or what to do?

My Question is as stated above its quite a frustrating problem and notice it because my audio was not synced from a video that I imported into the program. But when i played the file in my normal video player the audio was synced just fine. Please Help!

DVD Burner not found

I have recently installed a new DVD burner on my PC however when I tried to burn a DVD from Premier Elements it states that the burner is not found.

I have however been able to burn a disc when using AVCHD as it finds the burner.

The drop down for the find burner location is alos blank and not letting me find the drive.

Does anyone have any suggestions as top what I can do to get the dvd recognised.

Hello all:

I'm new to the forum and came across an issue. I had initially responded to an old post but at the direction of a couple veterans they guided me into doing a fresh post and to provide a lot more detail up front (thank you Bill & Steve). I apologize if I get too wordy everyone. Here it goes:

The end result is that I started working on a big project and when selecting "share" I'd burn to a DVD. It would go through all the processes of encoding and on the final step towards the end Premiere would give me the following message: Unknown Error: 2131042562. However a couple times it appeared I got further in which it would say it was burning to disc and then my system would reboot. Hard to say for sure what state it was at because I'd typically miss the reboot due to length of encoding process. To provide a little history, I suspected my system was infected a few months ago so I decided to rebuild and in the process upgrade the OS. I was running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit. I ended up doing a low-level format and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Followed the rebuild to a "T" plus have an IT background and have been building PCs for many years. Prior to rebuild I didn't appear to have a problem and burning discs from within PE worked. This is first attempt to burn disc through PE since the rebuild. Everything looks fine with latest drivers installed and installed in the order that Dell documents. Enough of that and let me get to PC spec's and the project details.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Intel i7-860 2.8GHz Quad Core

8GB RAM

Intel SATA RAID Controller - 3400 Series

2 x Seagate Barracuda 750GB HDD, 7200RPM SATA 32MB Cache (ST3750528AS) in RAID1 Configuration

Single partition, C:\ Drive, with 597GB free (probably not optimal for performance)

NVidia GeForce GTS 240 Display Adapter

DVD/BLURAY Combo burner: HLDS BH30N (can burn bluray) - running latest firmware A103

Pagefile: System Managed; min 16MB, recommended 12226MB, currently allocated 8151MB

Video camera used: JVC Z-HD300AU (Full HD 1920x1080; AVCHD)

Project:

Basically putting together a dance team video for my daughter's end of season banquet. It's a compilation of both mine and another person's video. I used my camera and the other individual's was also a JVC but not High Def.

Timeline - Just over 38 minutes

Settings; NTSC --> AVCHD-->Full HD 1080i 30 5.1 Channel

Intro was a "Universal Studios" intro that I found on the internet-->MPEG-4 Movie

Had 3 PE title screens with some effects and seperate audio playing a .m4a song

From there probably a total of 9 video clips consisting of other person's video--> .MOD file extension

Then has 20 photos with title screen with the girls with both the photo and names fading in/out.

During slideshow I had another audio soundtrack playing in background--> .m4a

Then came another 20 video clips mostly from my camera --> .MTS file extension

Throughput the video I either used some fade in/out between video clips or used some of PE's transitions

What I've done for testing:

- I tested the burner and burned a data disc with Roxio without issue.

- I created a new project using same NTSC settings. I first only took .MOD files and tried ripping and then tried it again with only using some of my clips (.MTS). Both were unsuccessful.

- I then changed NTSC format and install of Full HD I just select "HD 1080i 30 5.1 Channel". Again just creating a much smaller project with the steps prior and still no luck.

- I've also tried using bluray media instead of DVD+R but again it did not work.

- I've even disabled McAfee during the process of burning to disc to see if that made a difference.

- The only successful attempts I've had is when I share to my PC and export to a file. Was able to do that with my original project plus a couple of my test ones. I've done both an AVI and MPEG. Trying to determine which is really the best option/quality.

I've read that some people recommend exporting to a file because it provides a backup of the video and you don't have to rely on PE. That might be fine but want to be able to retain my disc menu's and on the occassion in which I record at the highest resolution on my video camera, that I can burn a bluray disc (which I have been successful doing through PE before). So might be missing a step on maintaining my menu and might need recommendation of a 3rd party software to keep menu and burn to bluray. Especially if I can't get past my issue. The end objective is to be able to rip a DVD so I can give one to each of the dance team girls.

At this stage I don't think I have more to add but I'm sure I overlooked something. I apologize if I put anyone to sleep. It is very possible that I'm overlooking something but have to admit that doing video editing and building home DVDs are new to me so still striving to learn more in this area. I hope that someone has had a similar experience or can perhaps give me some advice. I've combed through the system event logs and did go through the computer and can't find a single thing wrong with the OS or hardware. I know back in the day that people would recommend setting the min/max of the pagefile the same to reduce fragmentation of the pagefile. Not sure if this holds true to Windows 7 or not. Would think that there might be pros/cons to either configuration. Maybe something is awry with my rebuild.

Blu-ray no burners detected PE8, Windows 7

I am running PE8/Windows7 Home Premium on a Dell Studio XPS computer. My DVD/CD ROM Drives are listed in device manager as follows:

HL-DT-ST-DVD+-RW 6H50N and PLDS DVDRWBD DH-6E2S. I have used Windows to update my drivers and they told me that I have the optimum drivers. (Maybe there is a better way; I don't know).

I have successfully burned my project to a regular DVD but when I select "Blu-day Disc" I get a message that says "no burners detected." I have searched this forum and found the following that Bill Hunt posted on February 3, 2010:

If you have updated the burner's firmware, and it works with other programs, and you have tried three brands (which ones did you use, please?), then it would seem that something is getting in the way of the process. Usually when this happens, there is some form of "packet-writing" software, that is hooking the burner. However, when this happens, one gets a totally different message, "no burner detected," or similar. Still, depending on what might be hooking the burner, I suppose that one could get another message.

To be honest, I have no idea what this means and no idea where to begin to solve this problem. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Missing burners

Over the years there have been many many instances of Premiere Elements not detecting attached DVD / CD burners. I know this because it has now happened to me twice - so I've been researching. I found one instance of the problem being reported from the days of Elements 2 and many more from more recent releases.

It's easily (but irritatingly) fixable by one or both of:

Delete upper/lower filter values for the drives from the registry (Microsoft / Adobe solution)
Uninstalling PRE, cleaning the registry, Reinstalling PRE (alternate Adobe solution).

The irritation is the time factor involved (1 needs a reboot, 2 takes time).

I don't need them visible for my workflow as I burn to folder and use DVD Shrink or ImgBurn to write the media (Windows recognises the burners). It could become a bigger issue if I start burning Blu-Ray. It's just plain annoying

My question is to ask if anyone has ever found the exact reason why it happens and if there is a more easily and reliable method to fix it.

Audio changes for Menu themes

The menu themes in Premiere Elements 12 do not allow a change to the volume on the preset music scores in the Main Menu page; or allow for a change-out to another music choice on the presets for the "Scene Selection" page – how do I do those two things?

The menu theme I selected for my video is SCREAMING loud and prompts the viewer to quickly turn down the volume, but then they have to crank it back up to hear the video. I converted a VHS tape to a DVD video and then I added photos at the end for a wedding project. This sound thing is driving me nuts every time I preview it and does the same thing on the DVD when I burn it.

All of the tutorials I've checked, and the manual, show how to alter the pictures, but absolutely nothing about the audio needing to be corrected. :-(

Fully paid PE 13. Downloaded and installed. Opened Organizer and was required to log in and accept Software licence agreement. Did so. Selected some clips. Created folder for them. Selected Editor. Was required to log in/accept software Licence Agreement. Nothing happened.

Went to Chat. No help in the least. Simply the most hilarious experience dealing with off shore (India) Tech support. Requested follow up. Nothing yet.

Uninstalled PE13. Downloaded and re-installed as per off shore Tech Support.

I am in the middle of an import project and my Elements 12 became corrupt because I uninstalled Photoshop Elements 12. I need to download PE 12 registered, licensed, paid for but the link I found (Download Premiere Elements products | 12, 11, 10) doesn't appear to offer it in English???

I recently had some 8mm film transferred to DVD. I am trying to edit the film clips using Premier Elements 4.0. so I can reburn the films on a single BluRay disc. Some of the film clips copy into the project but others don't. I tried copying the VOB filed onto my hard drive and then changing the file extensions on the VOB files to MPEG but this was no help. Some of the VOB files contain numerous film clips but my software does not appear to be able to recognize them as such. I need to know if replacing my old Premier Elements with the new Version 13 would solve this problem or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Premiere Elements 12 Disk Menu

I placed a JPG photo in the background of the disk menu using the pan and zoom menu template. I adjusted the photo resolution to 1920 by 1080. The video is 1080p 29.97. It leaves a big black border around the photo and there is no way to make the photo bigger. I also tried the photo with a higher resolution with the same problem. The PC is Windows 8.1 - 64 bit. I also seem to get the same problem if I use 1080p video for the background. Any fixes besides getting a better program?

Audio Desync With Adobe Premiere Elements 12

Hello,

So I am trying to edit a game-play recording, and I have noticed that the audio begins to desync farther into the recording. At first the audio is fine and it gets worse the longer the video.

I am capturing the game-play using Nvidia Shadow play. ShadowPlay encodes video using H. 264 codec and outputs in MP4 format.

I had been recording video in 60 frames per-second and 50Mbps.

If anyone could help me out that would be great. I have searched for a solution, but have not found any. One explanation I read said the recordings were too compressed by ShadowPlay for Adobe Premiere 12 to handle, and the other explanation was that 60fps recordings were also the problem and they should be recorded in 30fps. I am not sure if those explanations are correct though.

Hej.

Jeg har kæmpet med et problem igennem længere tid. Jeg har prøvet mange forskellige convertere, men resultatet bliver ikke tilfredsstillende.

Problemet er, at jeg har en del video optaget med et ældre videokamera (Hitachi DZ-MV 780e). Sagen er den, at det optog i 704*576, og at der fulgte en afspiller med som kunne strække billedet til 720*576 og dermed fik et "normalt" 16/9 billede ud af det.

Hvis jeg i dag importere filmen til Premiere elements går det fint, og resultatet bliver acceptabelt, (Jeg omdøber bare .VRO filen til .MPG og så går det fint.) MEN jeg vil gerne eksportere resultatet til 720*576 og dermed få det "rigtige" 16/9 billede ud af det.

Desværre kan jeg ikke finde ud af hvordan. Den eksporterede film kommer ud med sorte bjælker i siderne og giver et sammenpresset billede, når det eksporteres.

Så spørgsmålet er: Kan jeg på en eller anden måde få et billedområde på 704*576 til at blive strækket ud, så det fylder 720*576? Og i så fald. Hvordan?

Removal of the Media is Off Line slide

How do I remove the red slide that says "Media is off line." It is showing up at the beginning of my project and I have tried everything I know of to remove it. es steht schon alles wichtige im betreff.
nach kurzer zeit reagiert das programm nicht mehr. ich habe mein system fragmentiert. die ssd platte gecheckt. win 7 auf den neusten stand gebracht. elements 13 neu installiert. quicktime und reader sind auch neu...leider kann ich mit dem programm nicht arbeiten, weil es nach kurzem gebrauch nicht mehr reagiert.

wenn ich ein textfeld dubliziere, dann wirken sich die änderungen immer auf beide textfelder aus. warum ist das so?
zB ich ändere den text im dublizierten textfeld in END. das ürsprüngliche textfeld sollte START beinhalten,aber nach der änderung steht das auch END.

Photoshop elements captions

Am using PSE 9. Captioning seems to be impaired. When in single photo view, I am now missing the placeholder text ("click here to add caption") or the actual caption which was previously entered. The only way to see either the ability to enter the caption or to edit it, is via the edit dialogue or by right clicking on the single view photo itself. Can anyone help?

Incompatible Driver error caused by DisplayLink driver

I have Preniere Elements 12 installed on a Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. When I try to start Elements it complains about an incompatible display driver and does not start. I have found out that the driver in question is the displaylink driver used to connect the Lenovo Dock to the USB3 on the laptop. If I uninstall it and just use the Intel Graphics driver Elements starts; I then updated the displaylink driver but this did not fix the issue. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Here is what I have done so far:

1. Updated the latest graphics card from Nvidia website directly (manufacturer)

4. Reinstalled antivirus and checked instances for programs

5. Checked Nvidia control panels and changed stereoscopic and 3D settings

6. Running in msconfig (safe boot with minimal resources) I did this to see if a service or process would be causing the crash

After reading this software's forums and a several other suggestions (spend probably over 40 hours on reading and trying fixes) there doesn't seem to be a fix for this. What is the cause of this crash?

Build a menu from scratch in Premiere Elements?

Is there a way to build a menu from scratch in Premiere Elements, i.e. not use the templates? I want a very simple menu on ONE screen, no sub-menus, etc., and all the templates I try end up creating multiple pages of menus just for the FOUR menu markers in my timeline!

Alternatively, how do I delete multiple pages of a menu, when I have only FOUR menu items and want them all on ONE menu page?

The software is installed on two different computers - I thought it was related to the primary so I moved the files to the new computer and I get the same issue.

Please advise. I'm 99% done with a video that I've been working on for over a month. I need for it to work please.

After dozens of hours editing I get a transcoding error when trying to burn a project to disk in Premiere Elements 12. Can anyone suggest a solution or workaround?

I am trying to determine the new project preset for a multi-camera video shot as follows: 3 Canon camcorders,

Main shot is DV (tape) (720x480, 29fps) - ceremony and reception

b-roll is DVD (mini-disk) (720x480, 29fps) - bride preparations

additional b-roll is AVCHD (1920x1080, 29fps) - groom preparations and misc all day ceremony and reception.

Film is from a wedding, DV contains main footage so I assume it will need to be the base. I am planning to use the preset for DV-Widescreen. Is there a better option? I'm concerned about playback as the three appear to have different PAR. I'm using Premiere Elements 10 on W8.

Ultimately this will be burned for two formats - one for a DVD that can be watched on a widescreen TV, second for a short clip trailer to go on vimeo.

(And no I won't be doing this again for a wedding that I shoot.)

I cannot import AVCHD files (.MTS extension on file name) from my hard drive into my (old) version of Adobe Premier Elements (version 3.0).

Am I doing something wrong, do I need to re-install the program, or do I need a newer version of Premier Elements?

I have a 10 minute wedding video I am trying to export from Adobe Premiere Elements 9 to upload to vimeo. I followed the directions from this video: Exporting for upload to Vimeo with Adobe Premiere Elements on Vimeo to figure how to accomplish this. The first time I followed the directions, the resulting video file was fuzzy and blurry, not at all like the HD video I could view in the program before export. Since then, I've tried exporting it multiple times with different settings, and each time the program crashes when the video is around 95% complete. How can I rectify this situation? This is a wedding video I made for a paying customer who would like their video on vimeo as soon as possible.

I am trying to access Organizer in Premiere Elements and it just shuts down the programme. I tried reinstalling the programme but it just does not let me get to Organizer. Now after reinstalling, it does not let me into the programme. It just keeps on asking me to sign in. Once I sign in, it just goes blank. I checked my registration online and it is already there. What do I do apart from tearing my hair?

My copy of Premiere Elements 11 will not open. I'm on a PC with System 7. When I double-click on the PE11 desktop icon, the window opens that says Elements 11 Organizer Adobe Software License Agreement. I select English (North America) and "Accept". The window disappears but then reappears again and again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the disk and from the download. I have also tried a clean boot and have restarted numerous times. It accepts my Serial Number OK, but I can't seem to get beyond this step. Any help would be appreciated.

I have photoshop elements 12 & premiere elements 12 installed.

I purchased the elements & premiere 13 upgrade edition and installed.

I believed the upgrade version would install over the existing version 12 but its installed alongside version 12 instead so I know have version 12 & 13 installed.

Can I uninstall version 12 without ' upsetting the version 13 upgrade and if so how come?

Hello Forum,

I run a ADVC 110 Converter from Grass Valley (Canopus) to convert my old VHS to digital videos. It is connected via Firewire and works fine on my W8.1 computer. The converter is visible in Windows Movie Maker and works, but I can not make it visible and running in the new Adobe Premiere Elements 13.

Any Ideas? I tryed of course all the sources and options, I am usualy not so bad with computers.
