Binary Rejected due to crash

Did anyone knows how to fix this issue? Cause it's happening to me as well.

I submitted 4 times to Apple Store the update of my app and it got always rejected, due to a crash when it launch.

It was a simple update to an app, which works on iPhone and iPad.

Can anyone help me out?

Bob Bringhurst, Bob Levine et al - after much waiting in the Apple queue, our binary was rejected yesterday.

I am not sure what to do, or where the issue lies.

I am copying the message we received from Apple below, and attaching the screenshot they sent us.

What do you suggest we now do? Everything worked just fine on our provisioning app. Thank you

SD card not supported

Hi!

32.1 app doesn't allow to store folio on SD card.

Storage location in Settings is only internal.

Card is inserted and visible in other apps.

Company to company distribution possible?

We are looking into DPS for usage of company to company distribution of folio's, specifically for iPad, and we're talking about small scale, maybe setting up 10 people at most to view a document produced, but short term creating 10 or so documents a year, each for a different company. Long term goal would be to scale up the number of documents produced.

The distribution methods are a little confusing as I see that Enterprise distribution is meant to be specifically internal to a company. We'd also like it to be relatively seamless - either enter a userID, deviceID or something similar to allow access to a document/app we produce (or even more seamless, like providing a link to access but maintaining privacy somehow).

Just looking for high level guidance on a recommended method of distribution and if DPS has the tools we would need to pull this off? Thanks!

Cannot locate Folio Overlays or Adobe Content Viewer in Indesign

The problem first started when I was working in the digital publishing suite on an app in Indesign. First I could not preview the app on the desktop. There was nothing wrong with the articles or the folio rather it would load the articles and then just not do anything. I tried updating Adobe and then I couldn't even find my Overlays panel which I had just used before updating. To top things off now my folio producer is not working because it says that a software update is required to use Digital Publishing Suite.

i have create an android native app.I have already build my folio on 1280x800 and i have also create the app.

But i have a little problem on how my content appears on the viewer.When i preview my folio on the desktop viewer everything is fine but when i open it on the viewer on the tablet i have a problem on how texts appears.All text looks like they have been a little distorted and words can't be easily read.Letters seems to be clipped on the edges.In order to understand what i mean i include 2 print screens.The first one is from the desktop viewer and the second from my tablet's viewer.Please pay attention on the texts.Just to mention that on my previous experience with legacy app i never had that problem.Any suggestion on why this happens and what can i do to correct this issue??

Embed Youtube video indesign CC/CS6

I am trying to embed a youtube video in indesign to be published using DPS into an app on the ipad...

I was previously able to do this in indesign CS6 then upgraded to CC and now it no longer displays correctly. I have since gone back and reinstalled CS6 but now that doesn't work either...

I have tried on both CC and CS6 to embed the code using the "insert html" function and also right clicking the video to get that copy embed code and paste directly...neither works :/

Folio not opening in adobe content viewer

About a year ago, I created a magazine with Digital Publishing Suite for a college course and uploaded it to my ipad in Adobe Content Viewer. It was from a school computer and version of Indesign so I don't think I'd be able to reload the file onto the content viewer app if I needed to. When I open the content viewer, I see the cover of my magazine alongside an Adobe file that says "Release". This Adobe file is newly there, and so is a blue plug icon on the top corner of my magazine. When I click my magazine, the little info "i" turns into a spinning symbol, as if it were loading. However, nothing loads and nothing happens. I left it for hours and nothing happened. When I click to open the Adobe release file, it opens to a light grey screen with no content, buttons, or anything. There is nothing I can click on or do so it forces me to exit and quit the app.

Can someone please help me in figuring out what is causing it to not open? I'm frustrated at this point and am nervous to delete and redownload the app in case my file is lost. Like I said, not sure if it would still be there or if I could get it back again. (I also am signed into the app with my Adobe ID, if that helps)

Windows 8.1 app crashing

I have an app and Adobe Content Viewer installed on a fully updated Windows 8.1

opening either of them from the start screen opens the splash screen but then the app is "thrown out of focus" and doesn't seem to load.

what programs are required ? (I have installed Adobe Air)

what is this behaviour called ? is there any log files to see what happens ?

Red Badge Push Notifications Not Updating/Gold Level Support for Pro Edition

Hello,

The Red Badge for Push Notifications (on iPad & iPhone) works great as long as there's only "1" new folio. When I send a second push notification for another new folio (days later) the badge does not update to show "2" (or more as the case may be). I had talked to support a while back about this and was told to rebuild my app with new certs (which I did) and it still doesn't work.

This brings me to my second question. Does DPS Pro no longer include Gold Level Support? I don't see it listed anymore on my dashboard and was wondering if that was the case and when that changed.

V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems

Hi all,

We have just built a custom viewer app and have rebuilt our own app to fix the one we currently have (due to the bugs with iOS8). But we have noticed that the whole experience just seems slower, and not as smooth as previous versions.

A couple of our pages have 2 overlays loading at the same time, and they are very laggy and jerky. Even swiping up and down pages feels like its got slower. They worked perfectly in the old viewers. Also we have some edge animations that are meant to load with a poster image, and then play through leaving a transparent background so you can 'see' the indesign/dps layers behind. This is a technique for reveals that we have done numerous times before. Now when the animation plays,
it reveals... the poster image, no transparent background.

Whats going on with these updates at the moment?

I can't continue using the folio producer. Ask me to update but when i go to update only find for cs6 or cc. I found a updater to cs5.5 called adobe digitalpublishingdigitalpatch. I can upgrade but when i start folio builder and he ask to enter id of adobe like always says that server unk and dont work.

Chat from support says that cant give me support for old versions and give me a lint to the forum. Can anyone help me? Sorry for my english but is not my first language (neither second).

Hi all,

I'm trying to upload on my folio an article and it's taking quite a long time (up to 6 hours) and it always fail when it's about to finish.

The article is a 12 pages indesign file and 9 pages on 12 are edge animations, .oam files, i've got 5 videos embeded, a 8 images slideshow and multiple pop ups.

It might be that the articles is too big to be uploaded?

Does anyone experienced something similar already?

Or does anyone have a tips or solution for it?

In-App Purchases for Google Play

Hello!

I created in-app purchases for the magazine CHIP UA, but the purchases won't go.

In the DPS analytics there are many "purchases starts", but no finished purchase.

What i've done:

- Google Checkout Account

- Put the License Key in the Admin Tool in DPS

- Created In-App Purchases with unique names. When publishing through DPS, there are the same, as in the Google Play panel.

Maybe i forgot some activity, that is virtal for publishing In-Apps?
BTW, the free versions are published without problems.

DPS App builder problem downloading the .zip file

Hello,

I have an professional license in DPS. I created my App integrated in single edition and when I try to download the .zip file in DPS App Builder to send to apple I got the following message:

"Faltan recursos en la publicacion de esta aplicacion. Para resolver el problema, elimine la publicacion, cree otra nueva con la ayuda del panel folio builder y vuelva a crear su aplicacion"

sorry for the translation:

"Required Resources in the publication of this application are missing. To solve the problem, delete the publication , create a new one with the help of the folio builder panel and recreate your application"

And I do so, and the message appears again.

DPS App builder dosen't start. Java error message.

Since I've upgraded to MacOS 10.10 the App builder won't work anymore.

It says it needs Java. But Java is installed. I headed to the oracle site and upgraded to the newest (8u25 to the date) but to no effect. It stills shows the same error. I also tried to reinstall DPS Appbuilder... also no effect. I restarted the system etc. no effect.

Edit: Also this link to a promised working JRE from apple: Java for OS X 2014-001 dosen't work for me (stays blank, no download). Weird thing... on the oracle site to check which version I have, it says correctly 8u25. If I check in terminal with: java -version, it says "No Java runtime present" ... so I guess the problem is on the Apple-Side. Edit-End.

Hi,

I suddenly got this error 2 days ago, and it's been going on for days now.

I contacted my reseller for DPS and to be honest it's real "****" the only solutions they can come up with are the same solutions I find on these forums which none of them work.

We pay about 12.000 euro for this whole system a year and there isn't even a decent amount of support on this.

Here is a list of things I've tried:

- Uninstalled Folio Builder and Folio Producer Tools, Reinstalled both tools

- Uninstalled Folio Builder and Folio Producer Tools, Removed Folders and Files from "Application Support", Removed Preferences, Reinstalled both tools

- Uninstalled Folio Builder and Folio Producer Tools, Removed Folder and Files from "Application Support", Removed Preferences, Uninstalled Indesign CS5.5, Reinstalled InDesign CS5.5, Reinstalled Both tools

- Fixed Permissions on my HDD using OSX Disk Utility

- Changed InDesign Folder Permission to Read & Write for everyone on the "Applications/Adobe InDesign CS5.5/" Folder (and child files and folders)

- Rebooted dozens of times.

- Disabled Firewall (in case a port was getting blocked or whatever)

The thing is... this happens on 2 iMacs and the other iMac is fine.

All macs are iMac Late 2013 and run the latest OSX Mavericks updates.

Also all iMacs use InDesign CS5.5

Users words (emphasis mine):

When I go to look at the app and take the step to download it this message comes up. Cannot install item, please restart the app and download your purchase again. I must delete the app and reload it. Only when I do that it will down load so I can look at the booklet and what is on offer to buy?

They have taken the ipad to their local Apple Store and the Genius has stated that its an App problem not the device (whatever assurance that gives, I'm not sure...)

The app is NOT a paid one.

Nor is the content.

From the emphasis I ASSUME the following:

The APP is installed successfully from the Apple App Store.

The "content" is what is failing to load.

When they try to access an "issue" they recieve the "error" about restarting the app and downloading your PURCHASE (odd wording for a free item?)

When they DELETE the APP not the "issue", then it works for THAT issue (I'm heavily guessing most of this...)

Now I have ONLY a single user that has reported this behaviour and I'm unable to reproduce it on any of our test systems, and without access to the customers device I'm not sure what else I can do from this end.

I assume that there MIGHT be more information (1) on the iPad in question in an error log (settings on apple device MAYBE), but I don't have access to that, or (2) the server logs at either Apple or the Adobe/DPS/Amazon server that is hosting/serving the content that the user is trying to access... are these surfaced anywhere that I can get access to, I'm not using DPS on any kind of daily basis... I'm just the tech support for this...

Any advice?

How to Update InDesign Digital Publication App for iOS Updates

I created a digital publication and put it through the DPS system for use as an app on the App Store. Customers are now reporting issues with the App after updating their iPads to newer iOS versions. Since I am not hand coding this or creating it through the usual app programs, how do I go about updating the app to work? I don't see anyway to do that through the DPS system, I upload the InDesign files to the DPS system and get the file back from Adobe. I've had this issue before and both Adobe and Apple say it's not their problem and tell me to contact the other, leaving me in the middle with no way to resolve the issue. Any help in this matter based on your experience would be helpful.

Hi there,

I have a client who needs to get a digital publication onto apple store, android and windows.

DPS Pro and its features would be perfect. The yearly cost is too much for the client as there will be only one folio.

So I have a few questions relating to the Monthly subscription:

1. Can I purchases for just one month and within the month upload the folio?

2. Will the app stay on the stores after the month is up?

3. Do the analytics only register during the month of the subscription?

4. If we wanted to add another folio during the year could we purchases another monthly subscription to submit to the stores?

5. When submitted to the stores is it possible to lets say for the apple store to have it appear as a native app rather than appear on the newsstand?

I am aware that we would have to also purchases folio download fee bundles.

I use a windows PC and I've made a magazine in folio builder... now I want to sent it to the appstore. (as a single edition)

I understand it has te be an app first to send it to the appstore and I also logged in at the digital publishing suite but what now?

I see here that the DPS app builder is only for windows.. but how do people with windows work with the digital publishing suite?

How can you turn the folio into the app and how can you sent the app to the apple appstore?

I have logged into Content Viewer and my folio isn't showing up. Did something change? I just did this the week of 10/20/14 and it worked just fine. I updated the app and still doesn't show folio.

I've got an HTML asset which works fine on an Android DPS app (10inch tablet) however i would like to reuse the asset for smaller Android devices and was just testing to to see if scaling it would still result a good experience fr the user. The problem is that it just shows the cropped corner of the asset without any scaling whatsoever.

I was just wondering if this is a known issue or I'm doing something wrong?

We have a multi-folio entitlement app (enterprise level) which we use to authenticate our current subscriber base. In various places in the app we link to the website where a user can create an account and authenticate that account with a subscriber number. The link goes to our website. We are not trying to sell any subscriptions through this process.

The message from apple was the following:

"The pages shown have links to outside webpages for account creation. The Sign In dialog also has a link for Create an Account which links to the same webpage. This is not in compliance with 11.13"

This is the account creation URL referred to by Apple:

Nothing has changed about this process since we launched the app back in April and now we cannot update the app. Do we need make the Account Creation process an in-app function? Does DPS have the tools for this? I would imagine most publishers need a way to authenticate current subs via some sort of authentication process and the App Builder only has an option to link to an outside URL.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated - thank you.

Unable to download purchased publication

Hi there,

We've recently published a folio for a client using a multi-folio viewer, currently exclusively for iPad. It's built on v32 of the viewer app in App Builder. In the vast majority of cases - not least in testing - this seems absolutely fine and all is working as intended. However, our client has said that a few of his customers have fed back with issues opening the publication. Those who experience the problem can open the viewer app, but they either don't see the library view at all, or they see the folio on its own but nothing happens when they tap on it. The viewer uses a slightly modified version of the custom store front - specifically it has a banner above the library, which contains a graphic.

Our client has passed on as much information as he has. The issue has been reported on both the third and forth generation iPads, both running iOS 8.1. In each case...

The purchaser downloads the free app from the app store and installs it on their iPad.
They then purchase the folio as an in-app purchase.
The folio cover is visible in the app but nothing happens when the user clicks on it.

A few report that after multiple attempts (closing / restarting the app / restarting the iPad) it does let them in and afterwards they report no further issues, but by then they've already seen to register the complaint. If there's a way we can fix it so it doesn't happen in the first place, that would be great!

Has anybody else experienced this before and/or had any luck coming up with a solution?

I have the same problem that greg_starkey had. But the suggested solution isn't helping

I created a single folio app. it worked well as a developing app and then it work also as a adhoc distribution signed app on a iOS 7 iPad but not on the iOS 8 iPad.

Can someone please help me.

Single Edition App Requiring to Activate App

I am in DPS app builder and completed all the steps for Single Edition App. After clicking on "Create App" and "Finish" It took me to a screen where I can see my app. But there is a "Activate App" link which requires me to enter a serial number. I have Creative Cloud membership for Indesign, Photoshop and Lightroom.

How would the DPS app builder recognize me as the cc member, what steps and how do it do those ?

I am an Adobe Creative Cloud - Single Edition subscriber. I have enjoyed the benefits and privileges that have come with my subscription and have created a number of iPad apps.

I am also aware that my Single Edition subscription limits my app creation to the iPad only. I am okay with not creating apps for the Android or other operating systems. But as of late, more and more reports are showing a decrease in iPad usage and an increase in the use of phablets. I'm not sure of the reasons that a Single Edition subscriber can't create for an iPhone as well since it's the same iOS that the iPad uses. After all, iPad apps can be seen on an iPad mini, which isn't much larger than that of a phablet.

My bottom line and concern is that as a designer of iPad only apps, I'm concerned that more users are buying phablets rather than iPads, which my Single Edition subscription won't allow me to design for. I feel I stand at risk of losing business and design opportunities for my clients.

Thoughts? I appreciate your feedback.

HTML forms in library banner on android (focus and blur odd behavior)

Hi,

I've noticed some odd behavior with HTML forms when they're embeded in library banner. When they're two inputs (in my situation witht type=text) - inputs don't loose focus when tapping on another input field. I must tap on currently edited input to blur it. It happend only on Android devices when the WebView engine is stock-based. On iOS it's OK, on Android when banner WebView engine is chrome-based it's OK and even directly in default browser it's OK. Maybe it's something wrong with WebView implementation? We have an app which uses and entitlement server. We re-built the app for iOS 8.1 and v32.2 . When a user opens the app they get logged out and logging in gives an error message "cannot connect to server". After a few tries it logs in but folios that should appear do not. Where should we start - it seems like an entitlement server issue but is it an Adobe server issue? Did entiltlement servers need to be re-built for iOS8.1?

HI, I have read a lot of the dps tips and articles and am following the below and still having issues.

If my url scheme is

com.company.company1516 (for the app)

com.company.company1516 (is the product id where i want to link from)

com.company.company1516.tools (is the product id I want to link to)

folio name: tools

why isn't the below working

Hello!

I have a current app built with DPS Enterprise. Currently there is no iPhone rendition built, and the current design is not optimized for the iPhone. We will be releasing another folio in a few months that will be built for the iPad and iPhone.

I realize that I will have to resubmit my app to accommodate the iPhone rendition. My question is can I resubmit now with no iPhone rendition so I can have that 1-2 week approval period for extra time to build (trying to match the print release date), or do I have to have an iPhone rendition in place before I can check that iPhone box?

How to upload to Amazon

Does anyone have any insight on how to upload to Amazon's store? I have my apps in the Apple App store and Google Play, but would like them available on the Kindle Fire as well.

v32.2 Vertical Splash Screen Fix??

Hello All,

Looks like today's update didn't address the vertical splash screen issue. Even though I am building my app Horizontal ONLY if the user has the device in a vertical position and launches my app you can briefly see the horizontal splash screen. If the device is in a horizontal position and the app is launch, the splash screen loads perfectly. Anyone else seeing this issue? Thanks.

I have this code in my custom library:

where on loadPreviewImage() method I get the folios preview images and register the completion event handler.

I log both methods to see what is happening and notice that while loadPreviewImage() gets called every time getPreviewImageHandler is not.

I'm testing on a ipad with iOS 8.1.

I'm creating an interactive brochure for iPad, need help to sort out the interactivity.

Hello,

I'm using DPS CS6. At the moment I have all the pages in one folio so it doesnt swipe left to right, it goes up and down. How can I change this?

Also ideally i want the images to be able to be tapped and go full screen and then scroll through the images on that page.

Help please!

Web content overlay: that blasted spinning wheel

OK,

I need some pointers.

I am placing in animations made with Adobe Edge and they look good, however, onload you see a spinning wheel until the content loads in. I am looking to disable that spinning wheel.

How do I do this?

How does The Wired magazine do it? How do they have visusally rich content without that blasted wheel?

All and any help, gratefully received!

I am searching somebody to help me with a webversion question for dps. We are making some interactive magazines for several customers. We are now at the point to consider if DPS is a good choice. To keep the overall cross channel experience we want to sent a (deep)link with (web)content especially for a certain person. I am struggling to find out if we do have to first make an app, put it into the app stores en then share the magazine. My question: can we avoid the app stores en send an URL with the dps magazine directly? I hope you can help me. Thanx ;-) If not- could you give me a name or phonenumber of somebody who can help me with this info?

App rejected, no content in iOS8

Apple rejected my app due to a "bug". Here's their note:

We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPad running iOS 8.1 and iPhone 5s running iOS 8.1, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically, your app does not include any content.

Is it me, or is there an issue with iOS 8? The development app works fine on my iPhone 5 with iOS8. It also uploaded to Google Play no problems, and it is being sold with no complaints.

Bonjour,

J'ai intégré un HTML de Bob Bringhurst qui renvoie sur Reminder. Tout fonctionne bien mais lorsque je fais un assemblage avec indesign CC2014 il me crée bien un dossier Overlay Asset mais du coup plus rien ne marche!!! J'ai un message sur iPad qui affiche Can't file…

Par contre si je crée un dossier HTML sur mon bureau avec les fichier HTML ça fonctionne!

Une idée?
