Acrobat suddenly stopped opening PDFs

Acrobat DC for Mac just stopped opening all pdfs. Downloaded Sierra thinking that might improve... mistake. Same problem and no messages, just blinks. Acrobat listed as default program. Can open in Illustrator but who cares? Need docs.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, you are not able to open any PDF file with Acrobat DC on Mac machine, Is that correct?

Please check for any pending updates of Acrobat Pro DC from Help>Check for updates. Reboot the machine after the installation of any updates. You may also reset the preferences of Acrobat Pro DC, to reset the preferences, please refer to How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

Restart the machine and launch the Acrobat and open any PDF file. You may also refer to See how to troubleshoot problems opening PDF files and other PDF related issues
