Files not recognised

Hi all,

So, I use Lightroom and Photoshop on my Mac book pro and Photoshop has just decided not to recognise any files thatI try to open. Any ideas?

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:
