flSH PLAYER 11 ACTIVE X WILL NOT LOAD

I am running a new HP Probook 4540s x64 and am trying to install adobe flash player active x 11.5.502.149 per you website. The download and install returns a message saying both were completed successfully howver, I cannot

open any application requiring a flash player. The product appears on the control program as being installed but does not appear on the start menu of programs.  Is there a known imcompatability with my system?  Is there some other product I can use? is there some other problem/fix?

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program; you will not find it under Program Files.
