I cannot install archived flash player either

I ahve already tried installing the new adobe flash player but it does not work.  I followed their guidelines, deleted it and followed the instructions for the archived versions.  I went through that process, extracted winax and proceeded to run it. I get an error saying I cannot do this because it is not the most recent version and I am instructed to quit. There is no other option.  I have spent HOURS trying to get things to work to no avail.  I cannot run important things ndded for my job and I cannot even call someone for help.  I am so unbelievably frustrated and upset with Adobe right now.  I am not sure what else to do and this is the only place I can go to for help.  Ridiculous!!

Why are you trying to install an old Flash Player version?

What exactly does "not work" mean with the latest version?

I installed an older version because the new version once installed did not take care of the program. I could still not bring up pages and it told me I need to install it which I already did. It was in my program files. So I installed archived versions to see if that would work thinking maybe my computer couldn't handle the updated version. I don't think that is the case however.

Tank you very much. It is now working. The issue was the Active x control being on. I am good to go!
