I downloaded license recovery for my error 6 can't open it to use it

My hard drive crashed and I was using cs4 for my iMac (os 10.11) I have downloaded and supposedly installed the LicenseRecovery app to fix the error 6 message, but I can't open it to use it.  The Bridge is the only one of the suite that opens without the error 6 message.

Any help would be appreciated!

Mac Migration and Time Machine DO NOT WORK properly with Adobe program activations due to hidden registration files that are not included when Migration or Time Machine make their copies

DE-activate and UN-install and then do a proper install... which may not work at all with CS4 and El Capitan

This information is a MUST DO to install old programs on Mac El Capitan

-Java https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/dreamweaver-java-se-6-runtime.html may help

Install CS5 on Mac 10.11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003455

Even the much later CS6 has not been updated to work with Mac El Capitan, so I'm actually surprised that you were able to even install CS4... or did you use a recovery process such as Time Machine?

Yes I have been using CS4 since I got the El Capitan version (on this iMac). I did use the Time Machine via the My Book external drive.
