Any error message?
I facing the exact same problem. Does anyone have a solution. I really need to open it.
Any error message? We need something to go on.
Not really, the usual window open and says that the application crashed. And then asking if I want to a report.
I have the same problem. I've used InDesign CC for 2 weeks. It works perfect in the first week but for 3 days it crashed and now I couldn't launch it. I tried to reinstall but it didn't solve the problem.
If I open InDesign I receive the same error message that says that the application crashed and that I can try to debugg.
I've already tried to debugg InDesign an the debugging was broken by the following error message:
I don't understand why I get this message. The msvcr110.dll file is already in the denoted Location but it could't be found.
And now I have no idea how I can fix the problem.
Same problem here: just downloaded version 2015. Crashes upon launching.
Copied the crash log, but too long ot post here.
Actually it's worse. All cc 2015 apps crash. Can no longer open any file. Extremely annoying!
I have the same problem, I installed de CC2015 yesterday and today Indesign crashes as soon as I open a document even a single page with nothing makes it crash.
Found a solution that works (for now), although it is a rather strange one: install dreamweaver 2015 too. Why? God knows.
Unfortunatly it doesn't work on my computer...
OK, thanks, it works now but I had to uninstall muse CC2015 because it didn't want to install the old Muse CC 2014.3.2... now I can open Indesign
Mine's doing the same thing too. I'll try restarting the computer (rage).
Do you have error messages or a crash report?
We are experiencing similar issues with Indesign cc 2015 in our office.
I try to save a file and it just hangs. We have to force quit.
My colleague cannot even open Indesign. No error message, it just will not open.
As of the weekend Indesign CC 2015 is crashing for me too. It displays the Welcome screen and then crashes. If I create a new document using shortcut keys it'll even create a new document, then crash a few seconds later.
I've uninstalled InDesign and resintalled it, emptied preferences, etc. all the usual stuff. It's only InDesign that crashes with Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator all behaving perfectly.
I've included the crash report below:
Process: Adobe InDesign CC 2015
Path: /Applications/Adobe InDesign CC 2015/Adobe InDesign CC 2015.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe InDesign CC 2015

DO NOT post crash reports here. Copy/paste them to pastebin.com and then provide a link.
I've edited your post which shows that you are running a beta operating system. I'm afraid you're on your own right now.
I had that issue for several weeks, then by reading here that Muse might be causing the issue (and since i dont use it AT ALL), i uninstalled it, and now InDesign starts without any issues.
A month ago I got this problem, it was then resolved and now Indesign CC2015 crashes again!!! what can I do, I have done all these suggestions:
I waited for a break in my production schedule to install InDesign CC 2015, and it's a good thing, because I can't get it to launch, either. It gets as far as displaying the panels, then immediately crashes with no error message, just the standard "InDesign CC quit unexpectedly" message.
Here is what I have tried so far:
Sgning out of CC and signing back in and rebooting
Clearing caches and rebooting
Installing Dreamweaver and rebooting
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)
2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB
Here is the link to my crash log:
It turns out that my problem was my tomaxxiLAYERS script, which works fine with CC 2014 but, alas, not with CC 2015. I removed this from my scrips folder and CC 2015 is now launching normally.
I guess now I need to learn to write scripts--in my copius spare time
Since my last post two weeks ago, the only thing I do is that I open Indesign CS5.5 before opening Indesign CC2015 and this way everything is working...
Hi, I too am having the same issue. So far today I've tried your suggestions above without any luck. It's only affecting InDesign. When I installed CC 2014 InDesign worked fine, but of course would not open files created in CC 2015. As soon as I upgraded to CC 2015 it will not start. Worked perfectly fine yesterday!
So far today I've tried:
Signing out/Signing in of CC
Win 7 Pro
Service Pack 1
Dell Inspiron 5558
Intel Core i7-5500U CPU @2.40GHz
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
CC 2014, if fully updated and connected to the Internet, should ask if you want to use the online conversion service to open newer files....
I thought that too, however, it does not. CC 2014 is fully updated and I'm signed into CC. I tried to do the same using CS6 which is not a subscription but get an error saying I need to sign into CC - which I already am since I was actively downloading Dreamweaver. It's very frustrating. I'm missing deadlines left and right today.
In CC 2014 go to Help and hold down the Ctrl key while you choose About InDesign. What version number do you see in the upper left?
For me, uninstalling Adobe Muse CC 2015 fixed it... as soon as i uninstalled it, InDesign started launching normally.
Thanks, I've read that too. Unfortunately, I do not have Muse installed on this system.
Thanks. After several failed attempts, I was finally able to convert using 2014. Unfortunately this still does not solve my problem in CC 2015, but at least I can salvage some of my day - what's left of it.
My problem with CC15 is that it hangs whenever I go to any of the menu items. I get the spinning wheel and it takes a minute or so to come back, even then it's temperamental.
The fix I was able to use was to go to users> Library> Preferences> Adobe InDesign> Version 11.0> en_US (rename this folder doesn't matter what to).
Then go to your InDesign app> Show Package Contents> Contents> MacOS> CEL (delete this folder).
I also deleted prefs at this point and seems to be working now. Only issue is that you get an error when updating the version. If you want to update just uninstall and re-install when a later version comes out.
I have Windows 8. I seem to be having the same problem starting yesterday. Any solution to this issue? InDesign will not go past the open screen.
I regularly clear my cache. I have tried installing several of the other applications since that seems to have worked for others in this forum to no avail. It was working fine just last week. Thanks so much! Could really use some assistance here guys. Much appreciated.
Try running System Restore and going back a week.
What worked for me: Disabled INDD CC 2015, reinstalled 2014 and it runs perfectly first try. Obvious lesson is not to trust Adobe and it's constant new releases of INDD. This is BS and wasted lots of time trying to solve it!
Disabled INDD 2015 and reinstalled INDD 2014 worked perfectly first try.

InDesign CC 2015 fails to start when my internet connection is active. When I disable my internet connection, it starts up just fine. Pretty annoying to be honest. I've already tried using the 'disable welcome screen script' without success.
This is a pretty annoying bug! Anyone found a working solution besides rerolling to 2014?
UPDATE: found the cause of the problem in my case. When I've worked on files that are on a server location (public/local) and I reopen InDesign when that server connection is no longer active, it looks for the files in the 'Open recent files' part of the File-menu. Since the connection is no longer active, it can not find those files, and that's where InDesign stalls. The only solution working at the moment, is setting the 'Number of recent items to display' in Preferences – File Handling to 0. No more crashes/stalls ever since.
Annoying bug though! Should be fixed....
I had this same problem, and nothing worked. I finally found a solution that works from Adobe CC Help, which is incredibly bizarre. It involves installing Muse 2014.3.2, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat Pro DC. For some reason, that fixes the issue. Here's the link: Creative Butt Help | CC 2015 applications crash on launch | Mac OS
Same happening here. I am going to try installing Muse as suggested and see if anything happens.

Indesign crashes before getting set up. Up to yesterday 16 September it worked OK though often would not save. I have a new 16 gig RAM AMD computer with Windows 10. All my Adobe softwear runs fine on WIndows 8.1. When I upgraded an older computer to WIndows 10 Adobe crashed my computer and I had to wipe it and start over losing heaps. Now back to Windows 8.1 everything works fine. But on my new computer Photoshop crashes after two or three effects as well as Premiere and now Indesign. Bottom line I think it is Windows 10 and Adobe that are not compatable.
