How do I accomplish this? Java SE 6 runtime is not available and I have installed the latest version of Java.

These apps are running fine on my old MacBook Air, also running Yosemite.

Installed CS 4 Design Premium on Yosemite and have entered the serial number, but when I try to launch any of the apps I am told to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime

If you are not able to find/install the older Java used with CS4 I know of no way to make that very old program work with the latest Apple operating system

This Java update https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1507936 may help (or may not... I am on Windows so only have a few saved Mac notes)
