Premiere freezes when I hit File_Export_Media. I get a spinning wheel and then it freezes. I cant click anything and I have to Force Quit. I am using a Mac Pro 2013 (trash can). I am running OSX 10.9.5 and using premiere 2015.2 release. I have done nothing different from a week ago and now this problem.

Open your project & in the Project settings > General, change video renderer to 'Software Only Mode' (select delete previews).

Try exporting your project/sequence and let me know if that makes any difference.

Hi flyswatterep,

Premiere freezes when I hit File_Export_Media. I get a spinning wheel and then it freezes.

Does that mean you are not getting the Export Settings window?

FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

What other information should I provide? I am just using 1080 HD video shot on a canon t3i. No strange settings. I have not changed anything since I last tried to export something which was a week or so ago. I am running premiere 2015.2.

Please import your original project in a new Premiere Pro project.

And check, if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

I have tried that. After premiere crashed (every time I try to export) it prompts me to create a new project to take the place of the crashed project. I have tried exporting from this new project and it still crashes. I also tried exporting from several older and other projects and it crashes the same exact way.

That worked thank you! I switched it to software only mode and then switched it back too Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration and it worked. Deleted previews both times. But what is the difference between the two? Why did this work?
