crashes after scanning

Acrobat pro 2017 intermitenly crashes after scanning.  This is on Windows 10 and a brother scanner using a Twain interface.  I had this same problem with Acrobat 10 on both win 10 and win 7, and with a canon scanner.  I did not have this problem with Acrobat 7.
