Unable to edit scanned documents that don't have a signature

I'm scanning a document and opening it to edit but Adobe DC is locking the document because it thinks there's a signature on the page. I can't remove the signature or unencrypt it or accept the security certificate. Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?

Hi Shelley.breen,

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are unable to edit a scanned pdf file as Acrobat DC is locking the document because of signature, is that correct?

Would it be possible to share the pdf file you are working with? To share the file here in the forums, refer to the steps given here: How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud  You may also share the link using a private message: How Do I Send Private Message

Also, let us know if you are scanning a handwritten doc

Also, let us know if you are scanning a handwritten document? If yes, then OCR wouldn't be able to recognize the text on the pdf. Also, if the document is scanned with lower dpi, try scanning with higher dpi 250 or higher as low resolution image is challenge for any OCR engine to work and affects the output accordingly.

Thanks,

Shivam
