Hello!

Windows 8.1 64-bit (WoW64)

Opera: 41.0.2353.69

I am trying to install version 23, because version 22 has stopped work.

But I can't do it. The installer is stoping after download:

Flash Player Ошибка.png

Russian text: Adobe Flash Player: Mistake of installing. For help...

Button - Ready.

If I download old version 22, the process of installing done. But Flash Player asks to update and don't works.

I was trying to uninstall flash player (https://helpx.adobe.com/ru/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html) and install after. But I have same problem.

Please, help me!

The problem was solved. I have removed my old antivirus with old bases, and I was able to install Adobe Flash Player. Thank you for your help.

Hi,

I'll need to review the installation log files to troubleshoot the error.  Please review the FAQ Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows?  and provide all files listed (Adobe_ADM.log, Adobe_GDE.log, FlashInstall.log) for the same installation attempt.  Since this is a 64-bit OS we require the FlashInstall.log file from C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash AND the FlashInstall.log file from C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash.  The forums don't accept attachments, as such, upload all 4 files to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a document and post the link to the uploaded files in your reply.

Thank you.

Other logs:

Shared Files - Acrobat.com

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

Thanks for posting the log file.  The online installer downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background.  If the FlashInstall.log file doens't exist the failure is happening before the online installer launches Flash Player (again, silently in the background).  I do see an error that I'm not familiar with in the online installer log.  I'll forward this to the online installer team to review.

In the interim, the offline installer is posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier page in the 'Still having problems' section.  This installer should work.  If not, provide the FlashInstall.log files from C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash directories.

I can't download files for any browser. I was trying in Opera, Opera with VPN and Internet Explorer, and I have same problem: insufficient privileges.

Flash Player installation requires Administrator permissions to install.  Is the user ID you are using a member of the Administrator group?  Since you have Window 8.1 you won't be able to install Flash Player for Internet Explorer as Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE and all Flash Player updates are distributed by Microsoft via Windows Update.

For the 'insufficient privileges' error when installing Flash Player NPAPI (Firefox) or Flash Player PPAPI (Opera), please to the following:

  1. Launch the installer and proceed until the error is returned.
  2. Take a screenshot of the error - see How do I attach a screenshot?
  3. Exit out of the installer dialog window.
  4. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and obtain the FlashInstall.log file from both directories.
  5. Upload the screenshot and both FlashInstall.log files to cloud.acrobat.com/send - see How to share a document
  6. Post the link to the uploaded files in your reply

Sorry...I misunderstood.  I've never seen an insufficient privileges message when downloading files.  This is a message that is returned when the user attempting to install is not an administrator, therefore, I thought you were getting it when attempting to install.

Have you tried with different browsers?  Or clear browser cache and try again?

Glad to hear everything is working  now.  We run every file through virus check before releasing anything.  We also register files with Kasperskey and VirusTotal.  You can also run any file website through VirusTotal's website when in doubt if a file has a virus or not, www.virustotal.com.

Hi Rey,

Not sure what you mean by "12/5/2016 update really got me stressed" as there was no update released on 12/5.  The last update released was in November.

It's possible you're anti-virus is blocking the download and/or installation.  There is no need to remove the anti-virus.  Try downloading the files in the following order:

  1. Clear browser cache and try the download again
  2. If the error returns again, reboot the system and try the download again
  3. If the error returns again, exit out of the anti-virus (no need to uninstall, just close out of it) and try the download again.
